POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job purpose


The BSEMEA Trade Compliance function within the Logistics and Supply Chain (LSCM) department is responsible for the overall trade compliance management of the Bridgestone group business activities in the EMEA area. The purpose of this job is to act as a Trade Compliance analyst reporting directly to the Bridgestone EMEA Trade Compliance Manager.


Main Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure operational compliance for all customers and all import/export/transit flows.
  • Foster and facilitate growing interconnectivity with other teams in Legal, Finance, QA/Master data, Procurement, Manufacturing/Engineering and Sustainability functions.
  • Create and maintain training schedules for compliance community end to end.
  • Support the Trade Compliance manager with ongoing and new projects related to customs and Trade Compliance regulations.
  • Optimize use of customs facilities for BSEMEA: FTA usage, suspension regime.
  • Optimize preferential and non-preferential origin management.
  • Harmonize and optimize the contractual agreements with outside customs brokers. 
  • Monitor and maintain AEO self-assessment and AEO internal control program.
  • Monitor tariff classification via My Tower system for BSEMEA and set up cross functional governance with all relevant functions end to end.
  • Monitor customs brokers declaration submissions, CBAM reporting and EUDR DDS statements via My Tower system.
  • Monitor and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for management of origin, tariff classification and customs valuation.
  • Support external/internal audits related to customs.
  • Support and maintain a respectful and positive relationship with authorities at all levels.


Requirements

 

Education: University Degree or Postgraduate in Economics, or combined Economics / International Trade Law (EU UCC is a plus) / Logistics studies / Customs/Direct-Indirect tax / Product compliance studies.

 

Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience in – international business/Project management/trade compliance/EU UCC customs law is definitely a big asset.
  • Relevant experience in process improvements is a plus.
  • Affinity with or certifications/educations in Logistics &/o international law or trade/compliance/customs/tax law/product compliance certifications will be a plus.
  • ​​​​​​​Working knowledge of EU UCC customs regulations in a complex international business environment.
  • Knowledge of project software, flowcharting, Word, Excel and PowerPoint – knowledge of SAP and customs software is an asset.​​​​​​​

 

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English is required, any other European language is an asset.

  • Ability to communicate about trade and customs regulations to non-expert audiences on different levels in the company.
  • Capability to analyze and handle complex projects and problems.
  • Ability to work cross functionally, across cultures and support teams in different geographical areas.
  • Enthusiasm and eager to learn in a business that is rapidly changing.
