Intern Project Manager

Job Purpose
The Project Manager Intern will execute New Tire projects by managing the cross-functional teams (incl. R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, Sales). Supported by a senior Product Category Manager, he/she will drive new products through the conceptualization, development, industrialization and commercialization phase according to Bridgestone standardized working methodologies for Stage Gating and Project management. He/she orchestrates and aligns the efforts of the various stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of their projects, securing timely launch, cost and quality.
The start date of this internship is forseen for January 2024.
Scope
The Project Manager Intern executes New Tire projects for consumer (Cars, SUV, Van tyres) and commercial (Truck, Agricultural tyres) products, focused on the EMIA Geography, i.e. Europe, CIS, MEA, India and South Africa.
For selected projects, the geography may be broader including other Strategic Business Units (Americas, Asia Pacific and/or Japan).
Key Result Areas
Lead project processes for new Consumer and Commercial tires:
- Project Initiating: identify the stakeholders and the project deliverables based on the business requirements.
- Project Planning: Define the project scope, develop a schedule and identify the risks based on Bridgestone standardized methodology. Conduct kick-off meeting and get the plan approved.
- Project Executing: Lead the project team to achieve the project deliverables, ensure continuous alignment via extensive communication and regular meetings with the team.
- Project Controlling: control the schedule, monitor the risks and support continuous improvement of the Bridgestone projects by analysing and documenting lessons learned.
- Project Closing: Prepare the documentation/deliverables, including Business Case, to obtain project acceptance at each gate review.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, economics, marketing or engineering
Experience:
- 1-2 years of internships/jobs experience in project management, operational product management or new product development
- Background in the automotive industry is considered a plus
