Job purpose:

 

The Supply Chain Systems team is involved in the projects realted to the supply chain applications, today mainly in the OMP APS plantform. The OMP applications are used in Bridgestone for supply chain planning, covering production planning, distribution planning, demand planning and material requirements planning.

The role of the supply chain application architect involves the following areas of responsibility:

  • Play an active role in the supply chain systems projects
    • Shape the supply chain solution together with the supplier (OMP)
    • Challenge the supplier on solution design and architecture
    • Translate the business requirements into technical requirements
    • Responsible of the testing plan and scripts
    • Steer internal and external tester in the project
    • Test Functionality delivered by our supplier
    • Create test scripts for the tests assigned to him
    • Setup the user interface (look and feel) and configure the tool to end user requirements
    • Be able to explain the tool behavior to the users
    • Assist on site for UAT testing and go life support
    • Give training to key users
    • Take ownership of task assigned to him/her and work independently
  • Work closely with the system support teams
    • Work with the service owner to improve the support in his/her area and come with ideas
    • Work together with the supplier and the service owner to improve the support
    • Assist the support team in the support to end users as a level 3 support
    • Support the support teams in their learning and trainings
  • Help coordinating the continuous improvements (CI) process together with the business teams
    • Ensure that the CI-process is followed with the required tack and trace, documentation etc. following the evolving best practices in the team for DevOps
    • Assist the business in business requirements creation
    • Support translation of business requirements into technical specifications
    • Contribute to technical solution design
    • Align and challenge the estimates given by the OMP supplier on the business requirements
    • Contribute testing scripts and development proposals
    • Execute independently continuous improvements in the system
    • Participate in the testing of CI developments
    • Assist the support team where needed in their testing
  • Play the IT lead role in an supply chain systems project (optional and more for small projects)
    • Run the project according to DevOps practices
    • Collaborate with the business PM for a successful delivery of the project
    • Follow up with the supplier on deliveries
    • Help Business PM in the preparation of the steerco’s
    • Shape the project plan and follow up on milestones
    • Shape the integration architecture with the different suppliers
  • Be part of the Supply chain systems team
    • Be the OMP tool expert in his/her area
    • Apply same process for CI as the colleagues in the other OMP system areas
    • Make sure that the documentation, business requirements and design documents are structured in a similar way as the other OMP areas
    • Be the contact person for business in his/her area for analysis and estimates
    • Align with the other application architects on system design
    • Train new people (external and internal)
    • Fully understand the architecture around his OMP area and understand the integration setup of the application
    • Collaborate with colleagues when changes in his area will affect the other OMP areas
    • Have a good understanding of the other OMP supply chain systems environment.


Requirements

 

  • Bachelor or preferably Master degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business Engineering, Operations Management (plus) , Mathematics (plus)
  • 1-3 years of experience with Supply chain planning tools
  • The role requires the person to be able to understand complex supply chain problems and translate this into system requirements. Person needs to work independently and s/he needs to be able to organize his work according to priorities
  • Able to lead / steer external consultants or junior colleagues
  • Able to lead a project
  • Quick learner
  • Good communication skills & cross-functional mindset.
  • Solid analysis & problem solving capabilities.
  • Results driven
  • Able to work across national and functional boundaries
