POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job purpose


As an H&S Coordinator you animate, monitor and control all H&S topics within our Distribution Center in Zeebrugge. You are responsible for following the correct utilization of our H&S tools (B-SAFE, Bridgestone & legal standards), making sure that the defined H&S roadmap is running effectively. You are the bridge between different stakeholders: warehouse supervisors, operational teams, local management and Bridgestone’s Central LSCM team, managing the relationship between all the parties and securing a proper delivery of the shared targets.
You also drive all initiatives with the purpose of defining best practices and solutions for common issues identified in the network.


Main Responsibilities

 

  • Focus on strong and weak points of the local H&S organization, proposing to local management and central LSCM team possible adjustment to reinforce the H&S guidance.
  • Coach and train the local team on global standards and corporate programs, site safety and security procedures, ergonomics.
  • Coordinate all activities related to Bridgestone’s B-Safe program.
  • Report on accidents and near misses and initiate preventive actions.
  • Coordinate and train the local First Intervention Team and ensure its operability. 
  • Monitor the First Aid team and follow up on their training programs.
  • Organize and perform evacuation drills, both internally and with external parties like fire brigade.
  • Monitor, through periodical audits, the level of compliance with the LSCM policies and guidelines.
  • Standardize the H&S documents (manual and procedures), by proposing guidelines and supporting the sharing of good practices, where existing.
  • Drive the digitalization of H&S processes by rolling out digital tools.
  • Promote best practices identified in the LSCM network.
  • Maintain, promote and further develop the Health and Safety management system.
  • Coordinate external audits with 3rd party bodies (Insurance companies, AIB Vinçotte, …) and assure compliance to all legal requirements.
  • Coach the local operational team on target definition and develop clear and transparent KPI’s.
  • Set up and follow up on mandatory activities: year action plans, DRBS, GPP, IDPBW, CPBW, …


Requirements

Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Supply Chain, Management, Engineering or a related field.
  • Prevention Advisor level 2.
  • > 5 years’ experience in a H&S role, preferably in a warehouse environment.
  • Management of mid/large-size projects.

 

Desirable Requirements

 

  • Management System standards (ISO9001) and audits techniques.
  • Technical expertise in H&S and disaster prevention.

 

Languages / Others

 

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in Dutch & English.
