Job Purpose


We are looking for a  Inventory Planning Manager reporting directly to the Head of Distribution Planning. This is a  EMIA role, based in Brussels.

You will be responsible for the Monthly Inventory level for 18 months horizon, accordingly to the target group (logistics cost and cash flow) and the service level required (stock target, fill rate, back order).

Main KPIs:

  • Map of the Inventory, production, import, sales and export, for 18 months horizon  – Actual, Forecast, OB, Total channels. One map for Business Category (PC4, TBR, OTR, AG. MC).
  • Inventory management   - Quality of the stock. Actual, Projections, Targets. Sales actions Actual vs Forecast.
  • First Order fill





Major tasks of the Inventory planning are the following:


•          Define Inventory Policies driving Slow Moving financial provisions and scrapping processes.

•          Define and implement the Inventory strategies with horizon 18 months : service segmentation by product group, distribution channel (OE and REP), sales channel; optimized niche product management, accordingly to Production capability and Sales dynamics.

•          Define Inventory Target, for both REPL and OE, Total Business Units,  including Regional, European and Manufacturing Distribution Centers through the use of advanced multi-echelon inventory optimization tools using ML/AI.

•          Partner with Data Analytics Team to design and introduce new descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics and data science which are relevant in the planning perimeter and contest.

•          Identify, develop and implement advance and integrated Inventory Planning tool which cover e2e all value chain from raw material to product on shelf.


Major activities for the Inventory management are the following:


•          Define, maintain and update Inventory Policies for nonproductive stock (slow moving, OE SK, ageing) management.

•          Lead a PDCA process to analyze the quality of the stock (Productive and Unproductive) with Root Cause Analysis on the slow moving inventory, identification, implementation and monitoring of the counter measures.

•          Define, develop and implement together with COE and Analytics Team advance data analytics system to improve the visibility, speed and accuracy, of the inventory morphology, toward complete automation of reporting and informational dashboard.

•          Study, define and implement machine learning techniques to improve daily operations

•          Identify together with Sales and Product teams countermeasures to keep unproductive stock at lowest possible level.

•          Support Sales and Distribution Planning team in ad hoc sales actions on unproductive stock.

•          Prevent generation of slow moving inventory by continuously simulating future hypothetical scenarios and incenting program around inventory. Set targets and incentive to drive behaviors, at European and Regional level.






  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or related field
  • Languages skills: English
  • Experience (years): 10+
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Experience in applied analytical methods in the field of demand planning, supply planning, market intelligence, optimal assortments/pricing/inventory.
  • Strong programming skills and experience in using Python and/or Data Science.
  • Strong analytical techniques, data mining knowledge and proficiency in handling and processing large amounts of data.
  • Deep Knowledge of statistical and machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience in building scalable ML frameworks for demand sensing including identifying and collecting relevant input data, feature engineering, tuning, and testing.
  • Solid knowledge of inventory management rules and policies
  • Knowledge of statistical demand profiles
  • Knowledge of DRP planning/processes and tools
  • Experience in managing product life cycle
