Job purpose

The BSEMIA Trade Compliance function within the Logistics and Supply Chain (LSCM) department is responsible for the overall trade compliance management of the Bridgestone group business activities in the EMIA area.

The purpose of this job is to act as a project manager reporting directly to the Bridgestone EMIA Trade Compliance Manager.


Main responsibilities

  • Design and shape a Trade compliance framework for EMIA covering all goods and services.
  • Design and Implement a Trade compliance project management function.
  • Foster and facilitate growing interconnectivity with other teams in Legal, Finance, QA/Master data and Sustainability.
  • Create and maintain training schedule for compliance community.
  • Ensure operational compliance for all customers and import/export/transit flows.
  • Support and maintain a respectful and positive relationship with authorities at all levels.
  • Optimize use of customs facilities for BSEMIA: FTA usage, suspension regime.
  • Optimize preferential and non-preferential origin management
  • Monitor and maintain AEO self-assessment and AEO internal control program.
  • Monitor and maintain tariff classification for BSEMIA.
  • Monitor and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for management of origin, tariff classification and customs valuation.
  • Support external/internal audits related to customs and IATF audit.

Required capabilities

  • Graduate or university degree or Post graduate in Economics, or combined Economics / International Trade Law / Logistics studies / Customs/Direct-Indirect tax / Product compliance studies.
  • Dedicated experience in project management. Agile project management is a plus.
  • Affinity with or certifications/educations in Logistics &/o international law or trade/compliance/customs/tax law/product compliance certifications will be a plus.
  • Basic working knowledge of customs regulations in a complex International business environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of project software, flowcharting, Word, Excel and PowerPoint – knowledge of SAP and customs software is an asset
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English is required, any other European language is an asset
  • Ability to communicate about trade and customs regulations to non-expert audiences on different levels in the company.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze and handle complex projects and problems.
  • Ability to work cross functionally, across cultures and support teams in different geographical areas.



  • 8 - 10 years of relevant work experience in – international business/Project management/trade compliance/customs law is definitely a big asset
  • Relevant experience in process improvements is a plus.
