JOB PURPOSE
- Sales
• Complete a quality control checklist for each vehicle entering the fitting bay.
• Inspect all vehicles upon arrival as per the quality control checklist
• Assess customer requirements and ensure that these are met
• Invoice on computer the products and services
• Complete stock request sheets and give to Supervisor/Branch manager for approval
• Instruct fitters to execute the job as required by the customer.
• Sell other services for e.g. wheel alignment and balancing.
• Be creative.
- Customer retention
• Report client complaints to Supervisor/Branch Manager.
• Remember our regulars.
• Inform customers of new services and products.
• Receive customer in a friendly manner.
• Inspect tyres and rims, nuts and bolts once they have been demounted from the vehicle
• Make sure that correct mounting, demounting, inflating, stripping and fitting procedures are followed.
• Make sure that fitment of new tyres are done properly and in accordance with section 4 on the quality control checklist
• Do not allow any client to remain unattended in the fitting bay.
- General administration
• POD’s signed and handed to administration
• Prepare quotes for Branch Managers approval
• Tyres removed from vehicles or brought in or retreading must be sent to the factory on a daily basis.
• There may be no “unknown” or unaccounted tyres in the fitting bay.
Compressors, torque wrenches, jackets and impact tools must be serviced regularly and adhere to safety regulations.
• No fitters are allowed to deal directly with clients.
• Always obtain permission from customer with regard to scrap.
• Correctly complete tyre change slips for wheel changes.
• Wheel align, wheel balancers, low level lifts, tools, etc all inspected on daily basis.
• Ensure that toilets are inspected daily, that it is always neat and tidy.
• Fitting area clean and all equipment working
• Keep list of regular customers
• Keep Inspection records
• Ensure that fitting bay is in an acceptable state.
- . Health and Safety
• Make sure that all fitters have the required personal protective equipment and adhere to safety regulations.
• Have toolbox talks and safety meetings with fitters on a weekly basis.
• Adhere to Health & Safety standards in the workplace and do not endanger other parties.
• Comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Ensure Personal Safety Equipment and facilities provided by the company are in good and clean condition.
