Senior Logistics planning analyst / Business Controler

Purpose :


The Senior Logistics Planning Analyst supports the WER LSCM Team with analysis, tools, reports and insights to optimize (1) Logistics Operations efficiency – warehousing, transport, inventory (2) Insight in and management of Supply Chain Cost to Serve (3) Efficient Sales & Operations Planning & Execution (4) 3PL contract management.


The Analyst also plays and active role in logistics management, in specific operational activities as assigned by management, and by acting as a backup for the logistics team.


Job Content


The role includes both operational execution and project management for  :



  1. Support to Logistics Operations :


  • Support the supply chain team with data, analysis and reports to become more data driven in ensuring resource is in place to provide the most effective and cost-efficient service to our customers  (for instance, by providing daily / weekly file on Order book with matching inbound flow & BO management)
  • To act as the back-up of the logistics team, for management of operations, flows, interactions with logistics providers



  1. Supply Chain Cost management & Business Controlling:


  • Full responsibility of Cost data capture, analysis, and information building.   utilising internal tools (PMC, SAP, etc) within the Sales Region LSCM operation.
  • Together with the Logistics Operations mgt,  help to ensure all logistics costs are presented & validated through internal systems (including accrual postings, Control Pay audits, BPC, etc). 
  • Monitor Freight costs vs drops and average drop size to optimise costs/service.
  • Check charges and costs to ensure accurate month closing finances are presented to LSCM
  • Report on variance and reasons to the Regional LSCM Manager and LSCM Business Controller
  • Provide Cost mgt support for all warehouses in scope of the WER Region (incl Zeebrugge, Born, Béthune, …)
  • Management and execution of the budget cycle:
  • Lead activities in the budget & forecast cycles based on contracted or historical costs
  • Support the Regional LSCM Manager to present and amend budgets
  • Preparation of the monthly LSCM Performance Package to track warehousing and logistics costs in the region, coordination with the Centralized Service Center accounting department in order to ensure the monthly and yearly closing process deadlines are fulfilled.
  • To support Project Leaders to capture, review and update PDCAs financial impacts.
  • Financial Business Partner of the region LSCM Lead ensuring the adequate quantitative instruments are available to make sound business decisions. Anticipation and suggestions to the business partner of resolutions of operating issues that are impacting the financial results.




  1. Sales & Operations Planning & Execution


  • Support the planning and customer service teams with reports, KPI’s and analysis on order management and inventory.


  1. 3PL contract management.:


  • Support the contract management of Third Party Logistics Providers by providing on time, accurate and visual reports on contractual KPI’s and metrics

Support Continuous improvement & Cost Improvement by developing and animating metrics
