POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Procurement Analyst in the Raw Material Procurement team. The role will be reporting the Procurement manager of the section. This is an EMEA role, based in Rome.

For your supply portfolio, you will be responsible for the data management activities, you will interact with suppliers in order to ensure the relevant information and data is properly maintained in our systems and you will use it for Procurement analyses. You will also liaise with many other business functions, including Finance for the reporting, IT for the optimization of ERP usage, Vendor Master Data for the supplier data management, Supply Planning and Accounts Payable for the invoices approval and the optimization of the flow from contract to payment, Logistics Procurement for analysis and benchmark on logistic costs, Internal/External Audit for the acquisition of the required data from the relevant systems, and many others.

You will support on business continuity related topics and on strategy development.

 

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, among others, the following activities:

  • direct and daily interaction with raw material vendors, logistics providers, intermediaries and other market participants
  • market intelligence gathering and reporting on a specific field or area of procurement
  • support the creation of category strategy documents and KPI reporting
  • system contract creation and update – both directly or through the an external provider
  • vendor data management including invoice approval
  • end-to-end sourcing process through the relevant software platform and sourcing processes.
  • studying solutions for continuous improvement of the Procurement processes from a data management perspective.
  • Issuance of RFQs and continuous monitoring of price evolution and opportunities

 

Requirements:

 

  • Determined and Motivated self-starter. The candidate is able to work independently within the set frameworks and maintains a problem solving attitude. Furthermore, the candidate is willing to continuously develop his/her skills and can self-motivated for sustained periods of time.
  • Technical Knowledge: some preliminary skills in data management, IT systems (ERP, Saas, etc), process automation. Proficient skills in using the MS Office package, especially Excel. Further experience in programming (Python) is a plus. In any case, enthusiasm for data management, systems enhancements, process automation is necessary.
  • Soft Skills: As part of a global company and due to the interaction with a wide variety of business functions, the ability to deal effectively with people from various backgrounds is vital. The candidate is self-aware, confident and willing to represent Bridgestone towards external partners and suppliers.
  • As the purchasing data that will be managed is directly linked to financial outcomes of the function and possibly enterprise, it is also necessary that the candidate has high attention to detail, can prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Education: Graduate from Engineering/Business disciplines
  • Experience level: 2 years experience .
  • Languages skills: working language is mainly English, fluency is required. Any further language is a benefit.
