INTERNSHIP - Raw Material Procurement

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job description

The selected candidate will support the Raw Material Procurement team in the data management activities. This includes, among other activities:

  1. contract creation and update – either directly or through the Accenture back-office
  2. vendor data management including invoice review and preliminary level of approval of invoice discrepancies
  3. report generation on a specific field or area of procurement
  4. support to the end-to-end sourcing process through the relevant software platform

While performing the above mentioned activities, the intern will receive guidance from the Procurement Category Managers, who will also guide her in the interaction with suppliers in order to acquire and maintain the relevant information and data that is stored in our systems and/or used for Procurement analyses.  

The selected candidate will also support the Procurement Category Managers in liaising with many other business functions, including Finance for the reporting, IT for the optimization of ERP usage, Vendor Master Data for the input and maintenance of the supplier data, Accounts Payable for the invoices management, Internal/External Audit for the acquisition of the required data from the relevant systems, and many others.

In parallel to the above mentioned activities, the intern will also keep studying solutions for continuous improvement of the Procurement processes from a data management perspective.

 

Who we are looking for: new graduates from Engineering/Business disciplines that are curious to move their first steps in the world of Procurement and are passionate and have some preliminary skills about data management, IT systems (ERP, Saas, etc), process automation. The candidate should also have advanced knowledge and skills in using the MS Office package, especially Excel, further experience in programming is a plus.

As part of a global company and due to the interaction with a wide variety of business functions, the ability to deal effectively with people from various backgrounds is vital.

As the purchasing data that will be managed is highly critical, it is also necessary that the candidate has high attention to detail, can prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency, is able to work independently within the set frameworks by maintaining a problem solving attitude.

Working language is mainly English: fluency is required.
