INTERNSHIP – R&D VEHICLE DYNAMICS ENGINEER
(Six months period)
Job Purpose
Her/His role will be to develop digital tools to support Virtual Tire Development process in the Technical Center.
Core Responsibility & Working relationship
The intern will work in the Virtual Tire Development Solution line inside the Digital Engineering department. She/He will be involved specifically in the Tire Models, Vehicle Simulations and Driver-in-the-Loop team. This team is responsible for all tire models and full-vehicle simulations across Bridgestone EMIA, to support OEMs as well as new product development.
She/He will be involved in the following activities:
- Interact with internal stakeholders to intercept their needs and requirements to be transferred into the digital tools currently under development;
- Develop “In-House” tools and proprietary methodologies to check/manipulate/optimize tire models to be adopted in full vehicle simulations through Digital Engineering platforms;
- Improve current digital tools for full-vehicle simulations and/or tire models manipulation adding new features;
- Manipulate experimental testing data in order to fit tire empirical models.
Job requirements
Technical background
- Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, brilliantly achieved
Languages
- Fluent English required
Core competency skills
- Excellent knowledge of MATLAB
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and tools represent an advantage (Git, Jira, BitBucket, etc)
- Knowledge of tire models would represent an advantage (e.g. MF-Tyre, FTire, CDTire,…)
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics would represent an advantage as well;
