INTERNSHIP CONTACT MECHANICS ENGINEER
BASIC TIRE MECHANICS RESPONSES MODELING
Job Purpose
The Candidate will be part of the R&D Engineering Team of Contact and Tire Mechanics experts, focusing her/his activities on:
Contributing to the revision and scale of Tire Mechanics analytical and numerical models for basic tire responses like Real Contact Area, Slip Stiffnesses, Frictional Energy and similia;
Core Responsibilities & Working interactions
- Review physics behind tire mechanics and contact mechanics, state of the art for analytical models and numerical models,
- Update, extend and scale, actual existing internal models and software in traditional environments like Matlab and Abaqus,
- Work effectively with R&D researchers, staff, technicians, and management of Bridgestone EMIA Technical Center, actively taking part to R&D cross-functional teams.
Job requirements
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering,
- Knowledge in Tire Mechanics and Contact Mechanics, Tribology
- Programming skills in Matlab
- Intermediate level user for Abaqus
- Goal-oriented, motivated, creative and collaborative. Able to work within teams with strong communications skills.

- Fluency in written and spoken English
