POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job description

We are looking for a fresh graduate engineer or less than 2 years’ experience in Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or similar;

Selected candidate will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) within our manufacturing organization.

Selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining integrated solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.

Selected candidate will be part of the team supporting the Manufacturing Digital Transformation.

 

The Digital Manufacturing team is part of Manufacturing Technology Development and Services (MTDS) department that is a division of Bridgestone EMEA Manufacturing. MTDS supports BSEMEA plants operations and foster technological innovation.

Selected Candidate have to be available for frequent travels to BSEMEA sites and occasional travels to Bridgestone sites outside of EMEA. Initial short term assignment to some European plant might be part of the education process for candidates with no specific experience in Tire manufacturing.

Required capabilities 

Technical background 

  • University degree in Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or similar. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or University degree in different area can be an option upon already acquired and demonstrable specific job experience at high profile level. 

 

Languages 

  • Fluent English required. 

  • Other EMEA languages are a plus. 

 

Core competency skills 

  • Understanding of Manufacturing Process. 

  • Understanding of various communication protocols (Profibus, Ethernet IP, OPC, …). 

  • Strong know-how in IT and mainly cloud-based solutions 

  • Strong know-how in OT, with experience with AVEVA System Platform (formerly Wonderware) concepts and products (Archestra, Historian Server and Clients, InTouch HMI / OMI) is also a plus. 

  • Familiarity with PC Programming Languages 

  • SQL skills are a plus (MSSQL and Oracle)

  • Time management 

  • Team-work

It is not an expected candidate have all the above set of capabilities already developed at high level. 

What is expected is that candidate ability to learn makes possible to deploy them as required to deliver good performances whatever the problem the candidate has to work out. 

 

Experience 

  • Work experience in Manufacturing environment is a welcome plus.  

  • Past demonstrated experience in same or similar role is a welcome plus
