POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Credit & Collections Analyst for Bridgestone Portugal. This position is located in our Madrid office.

The credit Analyst is responsible to ensure the correct understanding of the financial statements of the different customers for the region (with special Focus on Portuguese territory) to provide advice to the business in terms of credit limits, doing analysis of credit risk, with the willing to determine in depth the degree of risk involved by the company.

This role is expected to have a good level of understanding of the business, internal policies and procedures and their customer’s needs to handle all assigned tasks independently with a strong focus on controlling the quality and efficiency of their work to meet their customer’s requirements.

They should also be able to analyze problems, resolve routine issues directly, as well as analyze and make suggestions on how to handle better some of more complex situations. They should be able to participate in and support other departments in projects and ad hoc assignments, using their technical and business knowledge and analytical skills to help plan, initiate and execute such work working as a team.

The candidate should possess strong organizational skills, have a good understanding of business and be prepared to speak up and hold self and others to account.  Autonomy to ensure the correct justification of credit customers balance with independence to treat with auditors and general management in case of further explanation for them.

 

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Activities:

  • In charge of autonomously carrying out records or transactions necessary for the monthly or closing in credits

  • Support ITC team on resolving unallocated cash items as second level of support. 

  • Able to lead communication with customers and o preparation of various reports and their analysis.        

  • Ensure the correct understanding of the financial statements of the different customers for the region to provide advice to the business in terms of credit limits. 

  • Collaboration with the shared services center (SSC) for the closing of the different cycles, mainly ITC and OTC. 

  • Responsible for conducting short credit reviews on existing customers with exposure below €250,000 and make your recommendation

  • Responsible to meet monthly deadlines and effective time management

  • Responsible for the investigation and analysis of credit risk, Determine in depth the degree of risk involved 

  • Monitors customer accounts in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss.

  • Adhere to credit policy and procedures

  • Info gathering for our periodic review’ customers and coordination with Sales Team and other stakeholders

  • Investigates, reviews and interprets all available sources of credit and financial information including reporting services, credit bureaus, financial statements and management information

  • Liaise with Legal and Credit Bureau’s if needed in order to collect doubtful and/or Bad debt accounts. 

Process and continuous Improvement

  • Drives for continuous improvement in the credit process methodology, seeks opportunities to drive sustainable improvements. 

  • Analysis and implementation of strong internal control regulations of the company

  • Identify root cause of repetitive problems, 

  • Proactive Customer relationship building, continually seek out ways to improve customer, satisfaction, communication and query resolution

 

Required Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and a professional additional qualification preferred

  • +3 years of experiences in Financial Analysis/accounting/ITC or credit management.

  • Portuguese: fluent (Main territory), English: fluent (Group language) and other European languages can be considered as a plus

  • Proficient excel user

  • SAP: user level, S4/HANA and Fiori can be considered as a plus.

  • Required Softskills
