Job Purpose

 

We are looking for a Credit Analyst reporting directly to the Group Credit Manager based at Bridgestone’s Head Office in Midrand. You will be responsible for assessing, analysing, and making informed decisions and recommending payment options regarding customer credit applications using a range of criteria including purpose of application, credit viability,  customer payment history and customer creditworthiness.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and evaluate the creditworthiness of our customers, analysis of financial statements, contacts with our credit insurer,
  • Establish and monitor credit limits,
  • Consult and negotiate customers regarding financial transactions, payment terms and credit limits,
  • Preparing customer reports pertaining to the degree of risk in extending credit to customers by gathering and analysing financial data, payment habits, payment history and relevant purchase activities,
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose actions to avert over-indebtness,
  • Opening of new accounts that are in line with our credit policies and procedures,
  • Evaluating and analysing credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit to customers,
  • Prepare credit risk analysis summaries and submit credit applications to the Group Credit Manager for approval,
  • Identify volume opportunities and communicate findings to the Group Credit Manager and relevant stakeholders,

  • Close cooperation with all relevant internal stakeholders,
  • Transparent and prompt communication regarding credit analysis with internal and external stakeholders, clients, customers, and vendors,
  • Strong interpersonal skills,
  • Unquestionable professionalism showcased to all internal and external parties,
  • Meticulous in the manner of approach and line of questioning,
  • Quantitative analysis skills,
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently but being a team player

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Diploma in finance/ Credit Management and accounting or equivalent through experience
  • Knowledge of SAP will be advantageous
  • Strong legislative knowledge
  • Knowledge of credit bureaus
  • Underwriting/ CGIC experience
