Job Purpose

An opportunity has become available to work in the Finance team to drive the performance of the business within the North Region, building on existing foundations to enhance the service offered by the team.

Based at the regional head office in Warwick and reporting to the Finance Business Partner, Commercial Business Unit, the role is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, reporting and support for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions (BMS) activities across the UK and Irish businesses.

You will be the primary contact for the Fleet and Bus Operations teams, leveraging your accounting and reporting skills to ensure robust financial information is produced, presented and acted-upon to improve business performance.


  • Ensure month end BMS accounts are prepared in accordance with the Group’s accounting policies
  • Prepare month end journals and support the Shared Service Centre with the monthly close
  • Review and analyse monthly results to ensure that accounting entries are accurate
  • Identify risks and opportunities, working with business stakeholders to address
  • Lead the balance sheet fleet account reconciliation process with the Shared Service Centre to ensure all ledgers are reconciled, open items are investigated and rectified in a timely manner and ready for the financial controllers review
  • Analyse Fleet processes and systems and identify areas for improvement, working in partnership to realise benefits
  • Ensure the Authority Schedule is complied with by Fleet and Bus Operations teams
  • Support internal JSox testing and Internal Audit activities as required
  • Provide necessary information and analysis required by external auditors to enable timely completion for consolidation and external reporting.
  • Support projects as required, including HQ-driven and multi-region initiatives


  • Education/professional certifications: A qualification from a recognised professional body (e.g. ACA or ACCA) is essential.  Degree educated.
  • Understand key accounting concepts and group accounting policies, working with the Shared Service Centre to ensure all accounting and reporting deadlines are met to required standards.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, looking beyond the numbers to identify root cause of problems and find solutions
  • Excel skills to an advanced standard, PowerPoint skills to a good standard
  • Ability to develop visual representation of financials and engage both finance and non-finance stakeholders in discussions to drive improved outcomes
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to present in a clear and succinct manner
  • Ability to build strong relationships based on integrity, trust and respected financial judgement
  • Ability to create and maintain strong ownership of financial reporting in the business
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality of outcomes.
