Manufacturing Quality - Specialist

 

 

Job Purpose

 

To drive and roll out all Quality related activities assigned with the scope of new technologies introduction and continuous improvement applied in the Manufacturing area with special focus on the digital transformation of the BSEMEA quality processes applied in the manufacturing space.

The person should be able to develop and carry out autonomously his activities with strong leadership and proactive mindset, toward his team and other functions/stakeholders.

Final goal is to enhance BSEMEA Quality processes effectiveness and efficiency and product Quality leveraging on systematic application of data driven methodologies/risk assessments in order to ensure full compliance with Regulations, Customers and Company requirements with the ultimate goal of achieving superior quality all across the value chain.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Digital Quality roadmap implementation (Quality 4.0)
  • Drive the digital transformation of the BSEMEA quality assurance processes applied in the manufacturing
  • Respect plan realization for projects as Quality SME
  • Support the injection of digital Quality capabilities in the BSEMEA Quality community

 

  1. Manufacturing Quality support to new process industrialization
  • Lead cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the early product design phase
  • Perform Risk Process Quality assessment by PFMEA analysis on existing and new technologies and ensure robust linkage with upstream Risk Analysis (DFMEA / DRBFM) with special focus on Q Characteristics, ensuring cost effective preventive and detection methods in the process
  • Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at massive production scale
  • Develop and implement cutting edge quality inspection tools to evaluate functional, dimensional and cosmetic part characteristics
  • Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications
  • Problem solving based on data analysis; provide guidance to determine root cause and recommend potential solutions
  • Interface with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product
  • Coach and ensure Quality mindset & awareness is built in the Team

 

  1. Quality Risk reduction and Continuous Improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem solving tools (like Lean Six Sigma, Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments)
  • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions. Promote horizontal extension
  • Reinforce management systems to identify and reduce risks along supply chain and assure compliance to all Quality requirements
  • Implementing the risk reduction concept according to the GMP guidelines & global policies
  • Timely issuing and/or updating relevant Quality Standards and Co PFMEA.
  • Periodical reporting on activities status to management

 

  1. Support manuf. plants
  • Continuous and timely support to plants on Quality related matters

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

 

Education, Master, other certification

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent
  • or equivalent competency level gained during previous work experience and high school degree

 

 

Experience:

Previous working experience in Tire Industry considered as a plus.

 

 

Technical skills:

One or more of below competences/skills will be a plus:

  • Knowledge in data science/machine learning models
  • Quality tools for problem solving (5Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc..)
  • DMAIC
  • 6 SIGMA green belt
  • Design of Experiment
  • Data analysis and visualization software (Tableau, Minitab, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge on cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
  • Basic knowledge on Tire technology / tire manufacturing process
  • ISO/TS 16949 core tools (FMEA, PPAC, SPC, APQP, MSA)

 

 

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

  • Open mind and flexibility, Ability to interact with people, Ability to work under pressure, Good communication skills.
  • Positive mindset and win-win approach will be key ingredient for the success in this role, in order to translate daily challenges in new business opportunities.
  • The incumbent must be able to understand problems from customer perspective and be able to manage them with self-confidence and autonomy.
  • The position requires a structured and disciplined working approach in order to successfully manage daily work, special projects and critical situations.

English: fluent (Must)

Travel:

The position requires full availability to frequent travels (in Europe or worldwide) at Bridgestone facilities. In rare cases on short notice and/or including weekends.
