Mold and drawing planning office team leader

New Product Introduction is key to  enable the successful launch of new products through collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Operations teams. The team develops supply chain strategies for new products and coordinates all supply chain activities and requirements ensuring availability of resources (i.e. molds, trials, etc.) through development and commercial launch. The team is also in charge of managing production transfers of existing tire specifications from planning to actual execution.

Within the new product introduction team, the mold and drawing planning office (MPO/DPO) is responsible to translate the mold and mold drawing requirements from industrialization and production planning functions into a feasible drawing and mold supply plan, interacting with both suppliers and internal customers and balancing customer service, supply constraints and cost while keeping in mind the sustainability of business deploying the long term mold sourcing strategy.


Job purpose


Mold/Container supply and mold drawing planning

  1. Ensure that drawing and manufacturing plan of molds is duly assigned and communicated to suppliers according to their capabilities, capacity, loading and lead time at the best possible cost, ensuring respect of contracted volumes when existing.
  2. Ensure timely and structured communication of updates in mold availability plan to key customers (IPL, Tactical, OPP, …).
  3. Fosters end to end integration of mold supply plan aligning drawing, manufacturing and shipment plan while bringing in consideration customer requirements, sourcing strategy, supply constraints and technical considerations.
  4. Drives drawing and mold sourcing planning process improvement
  5. Utilizes mold and drawing forecast to generate and adjust a supply base plan, identifying bottlenecks in mold and drawing supply and initiating discussions with key stakeholders to understand options to remove or overcome bottlenecks while assessing the cost/benefit of each option
  6. Lead regular communication updates across Operations including monthly Supply Review meetings to share project status and impact and escalate risks that may delay our ability to deliver quality products on time to our customers.
  7. Defines and monitors KPIs related to process robustness and supplier service levels.
  8. Leads communication with suppliers’ production planning teams
  9. Supports internal mold and container movement between entities as well as the authorization of the mold scrapping process.


Cost Control

  1. Plan CAPEX requirement for molds and container (25-40M€/year)
  2. Plan Drawing OPEX requirement (+/-1.5M€/year)
  3. Monitor and control the mold and drawing spending, ensuring actual and forecast visibility and escalating main deviations when forecasting over or under spent
  4. Ensure alignment on pricing assumptions with procurement
  5. Oversees purchasing process


Team management

  1. Lead the MPO/DPO team, supporting members to achieve business targets while driving and fostering collaboration and customer orientation as core of the team culture.



  1. Leads the digitalization of the mold and drawing planning proposing improvements and prioritizing automation of non-added value tasks.






  • Ideally around 5-7 years of experience as a planner at a mold/drawing supplier or as a planner in the tire industry in relation with mold/drawing supply
  • A background in engineering or supply chain management is a nice to have
  • Experience as a teamleader is not necessary but a nice to have


Required capabilities

  • Having an end-to-end mindset
  • Being able to support in transformations and adjusting processes to new requirements
  • You have good people management skills, maturity and authority
  • Teamplayer and communicative skills
  • Very good level of English, knowledge of French is a plus
