ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

You will take care of all Bridgestone tax matters in Belgium and the Netherlands (to exception of customs), covering the Headquarter, the Sales branch and the retail entities controlled by Bridgestone. You will report to the Head of Direct Tax – EMEA and will be part of the EMEA Tax Center of Excellence, working closely with Bridgestone Head of TP, Head of VAT, VAT Advisor.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in tax strategy by becoming a true Business Partner being integrated in the business decision process.

The tax specialist shall :

  • Manage all compliance activities for direct tax in Belgium and the Netherlands

  • Ensure the timely submission of all tax filing requirements with appropriate and consistent disclosures

  • Ensure the timely payment of tax liabilities and appropriate retention of information

  • Coordinate the tax accounting activities and manage the current and deferred tax positions

  • Manage Tax audits and ad-hoc tax authorities requests for information

  • Contribute to a fair picture of direct tax assets and liabilities

  • Support the increase of quality and transparency efforts in compliance activities. Advising the organization on additional taxes and new future tax developments beyond pure direct and indirect tax.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

The sucessfull applicant has:

 

Education, Master, other certification:

Education in Finance: preferably Master Degree or bachelor degree in accounting with solid experience in tax matters

Experience (years):

  • 2+ years of experience in Tax

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (MS Office and SAP)
  • Corporate accounting experience (Belgian GAAP and IFRS knowledge highly desirable)
  • Advanced knowledge about taxes mainly in the area of Belgium direct tax and basic knowledge in VAT

Languages Skills:

  • Fluent in Dutch and English

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Ability to meet and establish deadlines
  • Flexibility and the ability to work in a changing multinational environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
