ABOUT THE ROLE

About the Role

As part of the EMEA IT organisation, the SAP SD / LE Application Architect designs and governs SAP Sales & Logistics solutions across a large Pan‑European SAP landscape. The role works closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and delivery partners to translate business needs into robust, standard‑driven SAP solutions.

Operating in an international and digitally‑enabled environment, the role contributes to major transformation initiatives, including the transition to SAP RISE, while ensuring harmonisation, solution quality, and long‑term maintainability of the SAP landscape.

 

Job Purpose

The SAP SD / LE Application Architect supports Bridgestone EMEA’s logistics and sales capabilities by defining, harmonising, and governing SAP SD / LE solutions across projects and operations. The role ensures solution consistency, technical fit, and alignment with SAP standards while supporting high‑quality delivery, continuous improvement, and strategic SAP roadmap initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

Pre‑Project & Solution Design

  • Understand business needs and contribute to solution design
  • Assess technical feasibility within the current SAP landscape
  • Bridge non‑standard requirements with the strategy to maximise SAP standard adoption
  • Define implementation options aligned with SAP best practices

Project Delivery

  • Translate proposed solutions into functional design documents
  • Ensure integration across SAP modules and with existing satellite systems
  • Collaborate with implementation partners and review solution approaches, workload, risks, and impacts
  • Configure and test solutions hands‑on within the SAP system

Maintenance & Governance

  • Evaluate solutions proposed by partners and support teams
  • Ensure alignment with SAP standards and integration requirements
  • Provide expert advice to support teams and contribute to Change Approval Boards
  • Act as 3rd‑level functional support for complex SAP SD / LE issues

Standardisation & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote SAP standard functionality and harmonised solutions
  • Stay up to date with SAP innovations and industry best practices
  • Ensure long‑term consistency and maintainability of the SAP landscape

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Logistics, Economics, or a related field

Experience

  • Proven SAP SD / LE experience across international projects, including:
    • Pricing
    • Rebates and contracts
    • Output determination
    • Order entry
    • Delivery processing
    • Customer and intercompany billing

Technical Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA
  • Strong knowledge of SAP SD / LE configuration and integration
  • Ability to work with complex SAP landscapes and satellite systems

Languages

  • Fluent English
  • Additional European languages are an asset

Soft / Behavioral Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and with geographically distributed teams
  • Structured, organised approach with a focus on quality and standardisation
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
