ABOUT THE ROLE

About the Role

 

As a Procurement Business Partner (Procurement BP) in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (LSCM), you will be responsible for creating the bridge between the central and regional LSCM Management team, the LSCM business controlling function and the extended procurement organization, adapting EMEA central sourcing strategies to the regional business needs.

 

As LSCM Procurement Business Partner, you will:

  • Speak the language of the business and understand requirements on logistics and overall supply chain services.
  • Effectively participate in cross-functional activities to guide and direct procurement strategies, communicate sourcing limitations, and articulate supply risk mitigation strategies.
  • Execute or support the execution of key sourcing projects, negotiations and contractual arrangements across Logistics & Supply Chain Management categories.
  • Feel comfortable engaging in financial exercises, including regular participation in budgeting and forecasting reviews throughout the year.
  • Understand and have some experience in P2P processes through SAP and Ariba.

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute or support the execution of sourcing projects, negotiations and contractual arrangements for primary transportation needs, including road, rail, air and sea transportation, as well as related logistics services.

  • Support sourcing activities related to warehousing, storage, last mile distribution, raw material logistics and associated transportation and storage requirements.

  • Support procurement activities for LSCM materials, goods, equipment, civil works, energy, maintenance and business services.

  • Analyze and optimize supply chain logistics, negotiate with suppliers for cost efficiencies and service quality, and support the development of procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Develop business stakeholder relationships and act as the link between regional and/or local management teams and the extended procurement organization.

  • Act as a trusted advisor within the LSCM domain and serve as the primary procurement point of contact for LSCM stakeholders.

  • Support category strategy development, sourcing wave planning, budget definition and procurement roadmap activities in collaboration with business, finance and procurement teams.

  • Coordinate procurement support for sourcing execution, supplier selection and contract implementation while ensuring procurement policies and purchasing processes are applied.

  • Follow up on procurement savings realization and influence business value through the application of procurement best practices.

  • Support the implementation, training and continuous improvement of SAP P2P and Ariba P2P processes.

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

 

Education, Master, other certification:

  • University or Bachelor’s degree and/or several years of experience in procurement or logistics roles.

Experience (years):

  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in an international environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including procurement, business and finance.
  • Experience in logistics & supply chain management and procurement of LSCM categories.
  • Supply market knowledge is a plus.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in category management and strategic sourcing processes within logistics and supply chain management, with a special focus on primary transportation.
  • Understanding of logistics requirements and the ability to translate business needs into actionable decisions.
  • Experience with SAP P2P and Ariba P2P processes.
  • Ability to identify and research relevant market, industry, peer company and supplier information.

Language Skills:

  • Fully fluent in English.
  • Additional languages are a plus.
