LSCM Primary Freight Business Controlling Intern

Job Purpose:
The LSCM EMEA Primary Freight Business Controlling Trainee is a part of cross regional business controlling team acting as a Business Partner to the Logistics, Supply Chain & Customer Services Management (LSCM) Department, in particular to the Primary Logistics Director. In this role, trainee reports to Primary Freight LSCM Business Controller and provides support with LSCM EU Operational KPIs and month-end closure activities with high leverage on digitalization, standardization and simplification. In this role, the trainee works closely with Primary Logistics Operations team in Spain and Italy.
Main Activities:
LSCM Performance Cockpit
Supports and optimizes the monthly reporting of European Performance Management Cockpit. Supports the LSCM Business Controller in developing the visual dashboards in Power BI to give more visibility to the business counterparts. Acts as a pioneer in the digitalization and automation journey of business activities.
LSCM Primary Freight Cost Centers OPEX Controlling
Supports Primary Freight LSCM Business Controller with monthly closing process for LSCM Cost Centres, analyses costs, identify and comment deviations from forecasts/budgets. On request, provides ad hoc analysis with possible interaction with different stakeholders.
Provides support in budgeting and forecasting processes for OPEX Cost Centres for Primary Distribution Centres in Italy and Spain. If necessary, interacts with Logistics Managers and Project Leaders, enabling the LSCM Business Controller to perform actual, forecast and budget reviews with senior management.
EMEA LSCM Business Case Process
Helps Business controller in preparation of the business case in case of intended investments, supporting Business Controller in making sure the assumptions provided by Controlling Team are accurate. If necessary, interacts directly with business counter parts to provide necessary support from financial standpoint.
LSCM PDCA Projects Involvement
Provide support in tracking the financial impact of the improvement projects initiated in primary warehouses, collaborate with project leaders on the status of the projects and help in making sure the financial aspect is correctly reflected in the month end closure. In case necessary, work closely with project leaders and provide support in maintaining the current standard tool for project card tracking.
Requirements:
- Student/Recent graduate in Master’s Degree in Management Engineering/Industrial Management/Business/Finance or related fields.
- Strong values in line with Bridgestone’s behavioral expectations (Agility, Courage and Ownership).
- Experience in using data analysis tools. e.g. Excel, Microsoft Business Intelligence, other relevant business information software.
- Attention to detail.
- Planned and organized approach in completing tasks.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people with different personalities and backgrounds,
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to translate numbers into insights, and present them to stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience with big data / analytics is a plus.
