Job purpose

 

In the above context Bridgestone is investing heavily in Sustainability through e.g R&D, Mobility Solutions and improving our manufacturing footprint. This newly established role is closely linked to this journey as we are looking at innovative ways to finance our journey.

The main purpose of this person is to maximize funding opportunities provided by either EU or by local governments for our business by working with external experts on one hand and Bridgestone team on the other hand to make sure:

 

A) We identify all possible opportunities available to us region wide.
B) We have a framework to prioritize the opportunities available to us.
C) We apply for the targets we see as best fit for us.
D) We follow through the application processes and also track performance and compliance against possible KPI and covenants set as condition for the provided possibilities.

 

Beyond above main objective, this person is a senior member of Treasury Team and will have therefore certain administrative duties to secure segregation of duties within Treasury Team and provide back up in case of need.

 

Required capabilities

 

  • Business Acumen -  Knowledge of business to be able to align business strategy and investments with external opportunities.
  • Ownership – Being able to drive the process wing-to-wing and influence the key stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Agility – In the fast-paced business that is ongoing, transformation adaptability is required to be able to support the business in the most effective way.
  • Communication Skills – As Sustainability is one of the key pillars of the Bridgestone strategy, most of the projects we are working on are getting high level visibility in the organization. On the other hand, influencing skills are needed to drive the opportunities within the organization.

 

Experience

 

This role is a Senior Expert Role. We are looking for a person with a proven track record in the field, capable of managing the funding opportunities process for the EMIA region.

 

Furthermore, strong capabilities are needed in the fields of Finance and Tax. In addition, an Engineering background or past experience working with a corporate Engineering department would be of benefit to allow more effective communication with our R&D, Manufacturing and Solutions businesses.
