Main Purpose of the Role:

To take responsibility for the management of your designated sales area (North & North Midlands of England): Securing and managing all aspects of sales and after-sales directly to our Bridgestone partners.  Managing sales to existing and prospective independent commercial truck service providers.  Securing, managing and growing a portfolio of local and regional fleet business.  Liaising with Bridgestone partners (and independent commercial tyre service providers) in conjunction with local and regional fleets in order to maintain and grow indirect fleet business.   Creating and maintaining a relationship with vehicle dealerships on the area in order to secure local knowledge of fleets with new vehicles.  

Working with our Bandag franchise partners to facilitate and support new business.    

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To gain a full knowledge of the business of existing and potential Bridgestone Partners nd that of any commercial truck service providers businesses within your area. 
  • To ensure that existing Bridgestone partner accounts have an up to date, signed, policy document in place which details current agreed target levels.  To ensure documentation is provided listing dealer discount terms, rebates and agreed support.   
  • To ensure the achievement of all individual Bridgestone partners and independent dealers unit targets on both TBR New and Retread products for each given quarter and full year.    To closely monitor and feedback results vs targets to dealers at regular intervals throughout each quarter period. 
  • To ensure our Bridgestone Partners have up to date price lists, product brochures, training material and information, details of support packages, both at HO and salesman level.
  • To actively sell our full product and support package range, fully understanding and selling on the features, advantages and benefits of the product.  To sell ‘Bridgestone Total Tyre Care’ values and concepts together  with long term benefit of our products.   To use promotions, marketing aids and brand support material to increase sales activity.  To be pro-active in suggesting relevant promotions and incentives to line manager, ensuring a justification relating to increased business to be gained.
  • To gain market and competitor information ensuring updates are sent to line manager and marketing.
  • To actively identify and target specific local / regional fleet business with each Bridgestone partner in order to grow our fleet presence and our in house share with BP’s.
  •  To actively monitor, control and take responsibility for a customer’s credit position. To liaise with Credit Control and manage invoice queries/potential late payments/bad debts.
  • To capture all calls and complete record cards in our Salesbridge system ensuring weekly plans are updated into the system by close of play on the Friday before next working week.  To ensure all completed calls are closed in Salesbridge no later than 7 days after completed call. 
  • To undertake fleet checks and audits where needed to gain vital in house fleet data in order to understand the current policy and mainentance of the fleet/prospect fleet.   To use the results to showcase our in depth fleet audits and gain test and evaluation fitments.  Ultimately proving  the performance of our product vs the competitor/existing brand.
  • To ensure capture of ALL existing and prospect fleet details in our Toolbox system and ensure contribution to the database relating to evaluating and monitoring.   To capture fleet inspections and updates.
  • To organise, host and present at days/evenings arranged with Bridgestone partners displaying relevant new products, promotions etc…. in order to impart detail and gain additional business.     To take part in exhibitions and shows as and when required.
  • To attend all relevant Sales meetings. To work as a part of the team and contribute to the effectiveness of your team as a whole. 
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships within all key departments of Bridgestone Head Office.
  • To work with and support Field Engineering, specifically in relation to tyre monitoring ensuring valuable data is shared.
  • Any additional Ad-hoc duties and activities as and when required

 

Key experience and personal attributes:

  • Preferable to have a minimum 2+ years sales experience, and ability to demonstrate track record of over achievement
  • Preferable to have 2+ years experience working in the Tyre Trade industry
  • Experienced in self-generating  leads
  • Proven neotiation skills 
  • Strong aptitude towards client management
  • Ambitious, confident and able to take initiative
  • Strong territory management and sales planning skills
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels, both written and verbal
  • Be able to work effectively under pressure
  • Valid driving licence
