ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

As a stores officer, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management and organization of inventory. Your responsibilities typically revolve around overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of tyres, as well as maintaining accurate records of stock levels.

 

Responsibilities:

1.      Receiving Stock

·       Ensure quantity, sizes, Order Numbers are correct and accepts correct stock and documentation.

·       Notify management and tyre company of short deliveries and register on invoice.

·       Crosscheck documentation.

·       Ensure tyres are stored neatly.

·       Complete tasks without defects, every time.

·       Check accuracy of supplies and invoices.

·       Maintain computer systems.

2.     Documentation

·       Check all documents.

·       Ensure Invoice Clerk receives all documentation.

·       Ensure daily counts are done regularly, and the stock sheets are handed to the branch manager.

3.     Stock

·       Ensure all special orders reflect customer name/invoice number.

·       Ensure recharge invoice always attached to order.

·       Rectify stock variances immediately.

·       Ensure stock order is correct.

·       Ensure orders are made out correctly and no complains exist.

·       Ensure suppliers are informed and satisfied with our methods.

·       Ensure no backorder problems exist.

4.     Stock Out

·       Ensure stock is released on a stock request only. No other method is in practice.

·       Always make sure to receives the old casings.

·       Ensure stock releases are correctly done, and no variances exist due to wrong stock issued.

5.     Rethreading

·       Ensure tyres always reflect the number on both sides.

·       Ensure tyres are dispatched correctly and on time.

·       Complete master control book correctly   and in full.

·       Ensure follow-ups are done.

·       Ensure invoices and tyres from the factory are always compared for correctness.

·       Ensure that any wrong deliveries is handed to the branch manager for action.

·       Ensure reps are informed about customer stock.

·       Ensure that stock tyres are stored correctly.

6.     General Administration

·       Ensure 2nd Hand tyres are stored inside store.

·       Ensure Register always updated & correct according on hand - Computer System.

·       Ensure scrap tyres are never disposed without the consent of the customer, rep, and BM.

·       Ensure register exists and completed correctly.

·       Ensure tyres are stacked neatly and safely.

·       Make sure Doors are always locked, and access is limited to the storeman and BM.

·       Ensure stores are neat and presentable.

·       Ensure that correct information appears on the ticket.

·       Keep and file records.

·       Make sure Tyre Information and invoice to correspond.

·       Ensure correct marking of customer details.

·       Complete scrap register and reason for scrap

·       Ensure there is Free access to fire Extinguisher.

·       Ensure that tyres are branded if requested.

·       Safeguard company assets.

7.     Health & Safety

·       Adhere to Health & Safety standards in the workplace and does not endanger other parties.

·       Comply with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

·       Ensure personal safety equipment and facilities provided by the company are in good and clean condition.

8.     General

  •       Undertake all reasonable requests and instructions, given verbally or in writing that fall within the parameters of own line of duty.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

 

Education, Master, other certification:

  • Minimum of Grade 10 School Certificate
  • Necessary Computer Knowledge

 

Experience (years):

 

  • 1 – 2 Years experience as a store officer will be advantage.

 

  • Languages Skills:

Proficiency in English is essential
