Branch Manager  

The Candidate

The suitable candidate must be capable of working with and supervising all branch staff, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high standards of customer service and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.

Qualifications &

Experience 

  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Mining Engineering, or related field.
  • Computer literacy.
  • 5+ years in a senior position, preferably in a retail or mining environment.
  • Driver’s Licence.

Key Performance Areas

Tasks

  1. Planning
  • Planning exists in all departments of the branch.
  • Work in accordance with business strategy.
  • Stock levels are according to budget.
  1. Motivation
  • Set targets that are achievable & according to our objectives.
  • Refrain from negative talk & change every possible situation into a positive mood.
  1. Co-ordination

 

  • Debtors progress / collection.
  • General activities of Stores, Counter Sales, Reps, Fitters, Wheel Alignment & Admin.
  • Performance at all levels according to company procedures & policies.
  • Daily vehicle check (Services, License, etc).
  • Daily stock takes.
  • Daily invoicing.
  • Sales Progress.
  • Expenditure.
  1. Asset Management
  • Always maintain an asset register.
  • Manage inventory and put in controls
  • General asset management
  1. Human Resources
  • Ensure staff are allocated appropriate resources and equipment.
  • Undertake Performance Appraisals for direct reports.
  • Identify training and development needs for direct reports.
  • Report performance bonuses and breakdown commissions monthly.
  • Ensure staff comply with company rules and regulations.
  • Supervises site staff, prepares leave plans and signs and submit leave forms.
  1. Health and Safety
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards.
  1. General
  • All reasonable requests & instructions that will be beneficial to Otraco & it’s customers, given verbally or in writing and falls within the skills parameters of the employee.
  1. Daily Tasks
  • Inspect the premises.
  • Check Stock Control.
  • Check all sales control.
  • Check banking records.
  • Check all Debtors Records.
  • Check all Petty Cash records.
  • Check the Job Control book.
  • Check Creditors records.
  1. Weekly Tasks
  • Check all loose tools and records.
  • Check all equipment and records pertaining to equipment.
  • Check all vehicles and records pertaining thereto.
  • Check all stock sheets.
  • Check all claim records.
  1. Monthly Tasks
  • Review Debtors.
  • Cash Flow.
  • Sales.
  • Budget/Expenditure.
  • Gross Profit.
  • Capital Commitments.
  • Staff.
