POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

 

We are looking for a On-Site Tyre Forman reporting directly to the Site Supervisor. This is a Local role, based in Rosh Pinah – Namibia.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Site

  • Practice correct tyre matching and branding
  • Assist Site Supervisor ensuring that all stock are accounted for.

 

Tyre and Rim Maintenance

  • Strip & fit tyres from and to rims
  • Fit and remove tyres and rims from machines and equipment
  • Identify tyres to be repaired
  • Inflate tyres
  • Assist Site Supervisor ensuring smooth tyres are removed.
  • Ensures tyres are inflated correctly
  • Ensures the fitment of valve caps and valve extensions
  • Identifies irregular tyre wear
  • Follow torque procedures
  • Clean rims and rim parts
  • Conduct weekly surveys and tyre pressure inspections

 

Documentation

  • Accurately fill in and complete change slips
  • Fill in and complete torque register

 

Health and Safety

  • Adhere to Health and Safety standards.
  • Keep work areas clean, neat and safe.
  • Keep company vehicles clean and neat.

 

Asset Management

  • Ensures safe custody of tyres, security in tyre bay and tyre store
  • Check stock weekly
  • Reports damaged/worn equipment for replacement
  • Drive company vehicles respectfully and adhere to all traffic rules

 

General

  • Undertake all reasonable requests and instructions, given verbally or in writing that fall within the parameters of own line of duty.
  • Absolutely never have confrontations with the customer.
  • Stay within your line of duty unless instructed otherwise.
  • Assist with general site operations, confirming all with Site Supervisor.

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • Namibian Citizen
  • Post matric certificate
  • 2 years in the tyre industry
  • Computer Literacy – MS Excel & Word
  • Supervisory skill
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Integrity
  • Ability to adhere to set policies and procedures
