POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Internship)

 

 

Job Purpose

 

To support Quality related activities assigned with the scope of new technologies introduction and continuous improvement applied in the Manufacturing and logistic area with special focus on the digital transformation of the BSEMIA quality assurance processes applied in the manufacturing, product evaluation and laboratory testing. The person should be able to develop and carry out autonomously his activities with little supervision from coordinator. Final goal is to enhance QA processes effectiveness and efficiency leveraging on new digital technologies/data science/machine learning models while keeping full compliance with Regulations, Customers and Company requirements with the ultimate goal of achieving superior quality all across the value chain.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  1. Digital Quality Assurance implementation (Quality 4.0)
  • Support the digital transformation of the BSEMIA quality assurance processes applied in the manufacturing, product evaluation and laboratory testing
  • Respect plan realization for projects as digital QA SME
  • Inject digital QA capabilities in the BSEMIA QA community

 

  1. Manufacturing QA support to new process and new product design
  • Partner with cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the early product design phase
  • Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at massive production scale
  • Develop and implement cutting edge quality inspection tools to evaluate functional, dimensional and cosmetic part characteristics
  • Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications
  • Problem solving based on data analysis; provide guidance to determine root cause and recommend potential solutions
  • Interface with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product
  • Coach and ensure Quality mindset & awareness is built in the Team

 

  1. Risk reduction, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem solving tools (like Lean Six Sigma, Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments)
  • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions. Promote horizontal extension
  • Reinforce management systems to identify and reduce risks along supply chain and assure compliance to all Quality requirements
  • Implementing the risk reduction concept according to the GMP guidelines & global policies
  • Timely issuing and/or updating relevant Quality Standards.
  • Periodical reporting on activities status to management

 

  1. QA support to manuf. plants
  • Continuous and timely support to plants questions/requests of support

 

 

Education and capabilities:

 

Education 

Minimum:

Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Data science or Statistics.

Proficient knowledge in data science/machine learning models is required.

 

 

Desirable:

One or more of below competences/skills will be a plus:

  • Basic knowledge on Tire technology / tire manufacturing process
  • Quality tools for problem solving (5Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc..)
  • DMAIC
  • 6 SIGMA green belt
  • Design of Experiment
  • Data analysis and visualization software (Tableau, Minitab, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge on cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
  • ISO 9001 qualified auditor
  • ISO/TS 16949 qualified auditor
  • ISO/TS 16949 core tools (FMEA, PPAC, SPC, APQP, MSA)

 

Soft Skills

  • Open mind and flexibility, Ability to interact with people, Ability to work under pressure, Good communication skills.
  • Positive mindset and win-win approach will be key ingredient for the success in this role, in order to translate daily challenges in new business opportunities.
  • The incumbent must be able to understand problems from customer perspective and be able to manage them with self-confidence and autonomy.
  • The position requires a structured and disciplined working approach in order to successfully manage daily work, special projects and critical situations.

 

 

Work Experience:

Previous working experience in Quality Assurance and Quality 4.0. transformation are considered as a plus.

 

 

Languages:

English: fluent (Must)
