JOB TITLE:

Tire Manufacturing & Logistic QA Engineer

 

 

Job Purpose

 

To support activities assigned with the scope of Roma Plant continuous improvement applied in the Manufacturing, logistic and technical service area with special focus on the quality assurance processes in manufacturing and product evaluation. The person should be able to develop and carry out autonomously his activities with supervision from coordinator.

Able to manage for new products & TPA, Industrialization with focus on promotion and activation of manufacturing de-complexity opportunity.

 

Final goal is to enhance Roma Plant/Advanced Workshop processes effectiveness, efficiency and product leveraging on systematic application of data driven methodologies/risk assessments in order to ensure full compliance with Regulations, Customers and Company requirements with the ultimate goal of achieving superior quality all across the value chain.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  1. Roadmap implementation
  • Support the digital transformation of the Roma Plant/Advanced Workshop processes applied in the manufacturing, product evaluation
  • Support the injection of QA capabilities
  • Arrange & Follow qualification trials of new product to be industrialized (Size Expansion & Master Size single loop)
  • Arrange & Follow qualification trials of TPA

 

  1. Manufacturing support to new process and new product design
  • To join cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the early product design phase
  • Perform Risk Process Quality assessment by PFMEA analysis on existing and new technologies and ensure robust linkage with upstream Risk Analysis (DFMEA / DRBFM) with special focus on QA Characteristics, ensuring cost effective preventive and detection methods in the process
  • Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at massive production scale
  • Develop and implement inspection tools/methods to evaluate functional, dimensional part characteristics
  • Problem solving based on data analysis; provide guidance to determine root cause and recommend potential solutions
  • Interface with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product
  • Coach and ensure Quality & Technical Service mindset & awareness is built in the Team

 

  1. Risk reduction, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues using advanced problem solving tools (like Lean Six Sigma, beta risk, Skills evaluation, etc)
  • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions. Promote horizontal extension
  • Reinforce management systems to identify and reduce risks along supply chain and assure compliance to all Quality requirements
  • Timely issuing and/or updating relevant Quality Standards and Operative Procedure
  • Periodical reporting on activities status to management

 

 

 

Education and capabilities:

 

Education 

Minimum:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology
  • or equivalent competency level gained during previous work experience and high school degree.

 

 

 

Desirable:

One or more of below competences/skills will be a plus:

  • Project Management
  • Problem solving
  • Quality tools for problem solving (5Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc..)
  • 6 SIGMA
  • Tire design
  • Tire advanced technical Knowledge (Tire Features, Performances and Mechanics)
  • Data analysis
  • knowledge on Tire technology / tire manufacturing process
  • ISO/TS 16949-IATF-VDA 6.3 core tools (FMEA, PPAC, SPC, APQP, MSA)

 

Soft Skills

  • Open mind and flexibility, Ability to interact with people, Ability to work under pressure, Good communication skills.
  • Positive mindset and win-win approach will be key ingredient for the success in this role, in order to translate daily challenges in new business opportunities.
  • Able to understand problems from customer perspective and be able to manage them with self-confidence and autonomy.
  • The position requires a structured and disciplined working approach in order to successfully manage daily work, special projects and critical situations.

 

 

Travel:

The position requires availability to travels (in Europe or worldwide) at Bridgestone facilities/suppliers.

 

 

Work Experience:

Previous working experience in Tire Industry considered as a plus.

 

 

Languages:

English/Italian: fluent (Must)

To be considered: Spanish, French, Polish, Hungarian, Russian.

 

 

Driving license

Car driving license is required.

 

Based on experience, position will be evaluated as band 2 or band 3
