POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Procurement Intern reporting directly to the Raw Material Procurement Director. This is an EMIA role, based in Rome.

You will support the Raw Material Procurement team in the data management activities: under the guidance of Procurement Category Managers you will interact with suppliers in order to acquire and maintain the relevant information and data that is stored in our systems and/or used for Procurement analyses. You will also support the Procurement Category Managers in liaising with many other business functions, including Finance for the reporting, IT for the optimization of ERP usage, Vendor Master Data for the input and maintenance of the supplier data, Supply Planning and Accounts Payable for the invoices management and the optimization of the flow from contract to payment, Logistics Procurement for analysis and benchmark on logistic costs, Internal/External Audit for the acquisition of the required data from the relevant systems, and many others.

 

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of Procurement CMs, your responsibilities will include, among others, the following activities:

  • contract creation and update – either directly or through the Accenture back-office
  • vendor data management including invoice review and preliminary level of approval of invoice discrepancies
  • market intelligence and reporting on a specific field or area of procurement
  • end-to-end sourcing process through the relevant software platform
  • studying solutions for continuous improvement of the Procurement processes from a data management perspective.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Education: new graduates from Engineering/Business disciplines
  • Languages skills: working language is mainly English, fluency is required
  • Technical Knowledge: you are passionate and have some preliminary skills about data management, IT systems (ERP, Saas, etc), process automation. You have advanced knowledge and skills in using the MS Office package, especially Excel. Further experience in programming is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: As part of a global company and due to the interaction with a wide variety of business functions, the ability to deal effectively with people from various backgrounds is vital. As the purchasing data that will be managed is highly critical, it is also necessary that the candidate has high attention to detail, can prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency, is able to work independently within the set frameworks by maintaining a problem solving attitude.
