Graduate Program - Material Innovation & Development Internship

Job Purpose
We are looking for a R&D Material Engineer internship reporting directly to the Head of Tread Compound Development. This is a Local/regional/EMIA role, based in Rome (Italy).
The Candidate will be part of the Tread Compound Development Team, focusing her/his activities on the rubber to rubber and rubber to metal adhesion mechanism and rheology characterization.
He/she will be responsible to carry out the project in all its phases: literature search, design and testing and results interpretation/elaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Perform literature search related to the project purpose.
- Propose and design experimental tests and new methods to characterize compounds adhesion properties
- Operate with general facilities in the material lab.
- Resolve technical issues.
- Interpreting data in proper context in order to present them to the team
- Performing mathematical calculations and preparation of graphs with suitable software.
- Work effectively with R&D researchers, staff, technicians, and management of Bridgestone Technical Center Europe, actively taking part to R&D cross-functional teams.
- Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks.
Requirements:
- Master Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or any other related field of study.
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience in polymer processing and characterization techniques.
- Knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and power point).
- Goal-oriented, motivated, creative and collaborative. Able to work within teams.
