ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

Moving from the Bridgestone Global Environmental Mission Statement and Long term Vision, inspired by the new Bridgestone E8 Commitment,  the EMEA Environment function support the business unit to develop road map to create, keep and enhance environmental mindset and values in all phases of our value chain, working both with our employees and engaging our customers and suppliers.

Our function play a key role within Regional/West Sustainability Committee and Global Environmental Working Group, bringing our expertise in setting global/regional environmental strategy and managing main environmental issues.

In parallel to Bridgestone Environmental Strategy, current and upcoming regulations in EU and stakeholders environmental expectations are growing exponentially and this is requesting to retrieve, elaborate and share a lot of environmental data and information.

The candidate we are looking for will support the Regional EMEA Environmental team, critically analyse and report requested info.


The candidate will be part of a Team based in Rome with multidisciplinary skills, in a highly collaborative group in which each member brings his/her capabilities to contribute to the group scope.

 

Main Accountabilities

Support the Regional EMEA Environmental team in:

  • Assuring proper reporting of environmental KPI on time from local sites needed to assure reporting compliance
  • Analysing site performances and requesting confirmation in case deviation or inconsistencies in data to be ready for third party assurance
  • Reporting regional environmental performances to internal stakeholders (dashboards)
  • Retrieving and reporting Environmental data/info for ESG reporting platforms, both voluntary and mandatory (e.g. Ecovadis. CDP,CSRD,  reporting requiring
  • Supporting the team to comply with CSDDD requirements
  • Retrieving, archiving and controlling data needed to calculate Organizational Carbon Footprint and Product Carbon footprint, necessary to comply with CSRD/SBTi reporting requirements
  • Handling Customers requirements on Environmental topics
  • Interacting with consultant to improve/solve issues with Environmental reporting digital platforms and boosting digitalization of environmental processes
  • Retrieving environmental performances of competitors and other Bridgestone regions and benchmarking vs. Bridgestone EMEA performances
  • Analysing and supporting horizontal investigations of Environmental incidents to avoid reoccurence
  • Assuring all ISO14001-50001 certifications will be updated and audits performed as per schedule
  • Assuring proper implementation of sites countermeasures following audits findings, tracking closures on time on schedule
  • Gathering data/info for requests/survey from Company HQ in Japan for global environmental topics

 

Working relationships

  • Different functions based in Rome EMEA Technical Center
  • BSEMEA Regional Functions (Manufacturing, Retails, Logistic,Communication, Sustainability) and sites/biz environmental windows
  • Other Poles environmental members (Japan, America, Asia Pacific/India), Corporate Functions (GBS) and Regional Sustainability Committee, Global Environmental Working Group

 

Educational Background

  • University degree in technical and scientific studies concerning environment, energy and chemistry (such as environmental engineering, chemistry engineering, environmental science, natural sciences, sustainability,  etc.)

 

Requested Technical skills

  • Command of Microsoft Package (Powerpoint, Excel), PowerBi and Share Point are a plus
  • Knowledge of key concepts of environmental management (waste,water,CO2, air emissions, soil contamination, , EU regulations)

Languages

Good level of  english, both written and spoken is requested. Other languages are welcome (mainly Spanish,French,German)

The position will be based at the Technical Center in Rome
