ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

 

The successful candidate will lead training and development initiatives and objectives within an operational environment. This role is responsible for identifying training needs, implementing effective programmes, ensuring compliance with SETA, BBBEE, WSP/ATR, Employment Equity and QCTO requirements, and supporting employee growth through structured learning and onboarding.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify organizational and individual training needs and design impactful learning solutions
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on training effectiveness and learner progress
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training materials and programs
  • Manage training plans, schedules, budgets, and compliance requirements with MerSETA
  • Manage compliance with labour legislative requirements: Skills Development and Employment Equity
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and risk management standards
  • Support employee onboarding and ongoing development initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align training with business objectives
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in learning and development
  • Drive continuous improvement to meet performance targets and KPIs

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

 

Education, Master, other certification:

  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development or HR, and a Skills Development Facilitator qualification
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a training role within an operational environment
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Strong computer skills (Advanced Excel advantageous , Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with SETAs, BBBEE, WSP, ATR, and Employment Equity compliance
  • Identify and assess current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, and performance appraisals
  • Demonstrated ability to support new employees through training, multitask, managing training programs, handle report writing, with strong communication and leadership skill

 

 

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to pay attention to the details
  • Good understanding of mining safety regulations (preferable)
