ABOUT THE ROLE

 

About the Role

Job Purpose

You will support the plant organization to deliver its business objectives through the roll-out and on-going execution of local, regional and global HR initiatives and projects. She/he supports the site in the attraction of talent, employee engagement, development, and strategic reward.

This position will report directly to the HRPB Technology & Operations, Sustainability and, dotted line, to the Site Managing Director and will be responsible for leading a team of professionals. The role is part of Plant Leadership Team and Manufacturing HR Leadership Team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Transformation Journey

Support Plant Organization and Cultural Transformation Journey driven by Site Manufacturing methodologies focused on the creation of a high performing culture based on 100% employee involvement and zero loss with a “Servant leadership” approach.

  • Organizational Effectiveness & Talent Development:

Lead the talent management and succession planning processes for the site

Foster Employee Engagement through a robust and effective communication processes

Drive the overall Site Training Strategy.

  • Talent Attraction

Working with the site leadership team, develop a strategic workforce plan that ensure attraction of the right employees to meet the strategic workforce needs of the site, while developing and implementing strategies for the retention of current employees

Participate in the staffing and selection process for managerial roles

 

 

  • Employee Engagement:

Partner with site leadership to implement a robust annual process (goal deployment, performance and development process, reward)

Coach and counsel leaders on effective performance management tools including feedback, coaching, and mentoring

  • Safe and Compliant Work Environment:

Implement an employee wellness approach that incorporates best practices in occupational health and safety

Ensure all policies, procedures, and employee documentation is in compliance with national and European regulations

Ensure all employees receive the appropriate compliance training and information

  • Labor Relations:

Coordinate all labor relations activities at the site in order to maintain a positive industrial relations climate

Prepare, negotiate and implement local Union agreements.

Manage disputes and issues; prevent and solve labor conflicts

Negotiate and implement changes in working conditions (department structure or workforce allocation, shift schemes, calendars, transfers, etc.)

Provide on-going coaching and support to line managers on labor regulations

  • Labor Cost, Reward & Recognition:

Ensure implementation of a market competitive compensation and benefits strategy that is locally competitive while aligning it with the Company compensation philosophy.

Work with Regional HR Operations to ensure that the site payroll and benefits processes are accurate, timely, and effective and in compliance with appropriate accounting and business standards

Coach and counsel leaders on Company total rewards approach and tools to differentiate performance, recognize and reward accomplishment, and retain high potential/high performing talent

Lead LC budget development, monitor monthly LC and Time& Attendance key indicators, meet and/or improve local HR budget commitments

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education, Master, other certification:

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Human Resources related field

Experience (years):

• Minimum of seven/ten-year experience in HR management roles within Manufacturing companies, with the same or a similar responsibility
• Previous experience in a multinational organization, implementing state-of-the-art production methodologies (i.e. Lean Manufacturing)
• Proven experience in Employee relations / Interaction with Unions is a must

Technical Skills:

• Labor relations and negotiation
• Talent management and succession planning frameworks
• Compensation & benefits and labor cost management
• Performance management systems
• Knowledge of national and European labor regulations
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing environments

Languages Skills:

• Italian and English

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

• Courage to challenge the status quo, to improve things and lead the change
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage negotiation
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels and all functions in the organization
• High coaching and developing others’ skills
• Positive approach, leadership capability to align organization towards the common goals transmitting passion for growth, quality and safety
