Job Purpose
As a general worker you will performs a range of tasks associated with the handling, inspection, maintenance, and assembly of tyres. The role often involves physical labor and requires attention to detail, safety, and the ability to follow instructions.
Responsibilities:
Key Performance Areas
- Tyre Handling
- Load and unload tyres from delivery vehicles, racks, and storage areas.
- Transport tyres to designated work areas using trolleys, forklifts, or manually.
- Tyre Inspection
- Check tyres for defects, damage, or irregularities during production or delivery.
- Measure tyre tread depth and check pressure levels, ensuring they meet safety standards.
- Tyre Assembly and Installation
- Assist in the mounting and dismounting of tyres onto rims using tyre fitting machines.
- Balance tyres as per required standards.
- Help in the installation of tyres on vehicles if needed.
- Repair and Maintenance
- Assist in minor repairs such as patching punctures, retreading, or vulcanizing tyres.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment used in tyre handling and installation.
- Warehouse Operations
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly storage area for tyres and materials.
- Label, tag, and record inventory of tyres as per company policy.
- Safety and Compliance
- Follow all health and safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Operate machinery such as forklifts, jacks, and tyre balancing machines in compliance with safety protocols.
- General Maintenance
- Clean and maintain the work environment, ensuring that production areas, storage, and equipment are in good working condition.
- Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company policies.
- Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production and quality targets.
- Communicate issues or challenges to the supervisor promptly
