ABOUT THE ROLE

Data & Application Specialist

Job purpose: The ideal candidate should have solid experience in data management and analysis, as well as in application design and development. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of the discipline within her/his professional field and related areas. She/He must perform functions of significant importance for the development and implementation of company objectives, following the strategic directives of management. She/He will be responsible for coordinating and controlling a group of people, optimizing human and technical resources to ensure that contributions are fully aligned with strategic objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Application Development: Lead the local team in developing new applications, ensuring that each phase, from design to coding, is executed with precision and quality.
  • Application Implementation: Oversee the installation and configuration of applications in various environments, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition for end users.
  • Application Monitoring: Continuously monitor applications to identify and promptly resolve any issues, keeping applications operational and performing well.
  • Application Maintenance: Manage regular updates, patches, and bug fixes, ensuring that applications are always up-to-date and secure.
  • Application Support: Provide excellent support to users, quickly resolving issues and enhancing the overall user experience.
  • Data Validation: Validate information entered against official sources to ensure data accuracy.
  • Request Management: Handle data modification requests, providing feedback and reasons for any rejections.

 

Additional activities:

  • Local Data Strategy & Readiness: Develop and implement strategies to ensure local data readiness and integrity.
  • Local Data Asset Management: Manage and maintain local data assets to ensure their availability and accuracy.
  • Manufacturing Data Catalog @ Plant: Create and maintain a manufacturing data catalog at the plant.
  • Execute Digital Roadmap (Apps): Execute the digital roadmap for applications, ensuring that goals are met on time.
  • Owns Decommissioning Roadmap: Manage the decommissioning roadmap for obsolete applications.
  • Co-owner of Local Apps Management Framework: Collaborate in managing the local applications management framework.
  • Leads Aligned Local Developments: Lead the development of local applications aligned with business strategies.
  • Supports Execution of Automation Projects: Support the execution of automation projects to improve operational efficiency.
  • Local IT Applications (Design/Delivery): Design and deliver local IT applications that meet business needs.
  • Owns Application Inventory & Management Framework: Manage the application inventory and management framework.
  • IT Incident Management (Applications): Manage IT incidents related to applications, ensuring timely and effective resolution. 

Education, Master’s Degree, Other Certifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications in:
    • Application Development
    • Project Management (PMP / Prince2)
    • Agile Methodology (PMI‑ACP)

 

Experience (years)

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the same or similar role

 

Technical / Practical Skills

 

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as VS.net, JavaScript, C++, C#, Oracle and/or MS SQL.
  • Project Management: Knowledge and experience in project management.
  • Agile Methodology: Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology.
  • Jira: Knowledge and experience in using Jira for project tracking and management.

 

Language Skills

  • English knowledge at B1 level

Attitude / Soft Skills

 

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to validate and manage complex data with attention to detail and precision.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly and effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with users and technical teams
  • Personnel Management: Experience in managing personnel, including team leadership and development.
