Senior Sourcing Specialist - Brits

Job Purpose
The Senior Purchaser will report the Head of Procurement based at our plant in Brits. Drive development and implementation of category practices including sourcing strategy definition, deployment, stakeholder management and executing strategic sourcing initiatives and procurement optimization projects to maximize total cost of ownership savings.
Description
- Take a strategic and long term view of procurement through identifying and developing innovative sources and contractual arrangements
- Prioritize category specific strategic plans and aligns with impacted companies
- Align strategic plan to financial budget
- Ensure buy in from Procurement Management of the 5 companies
- Proactively initiates internal customer Demand Management
- Define and optimize buying channels for assigned categories
- Manage internal and external analysis (industry & supplier) in collaboration with Sourcing Analysts, and other Category Leads, where appropriate, as a member of a cross functional sourcing team
- Understand and use the supply market and analysis information to determine sourcing strategies
- Lead supplier selection and fact based negotiations, where necessary, and report achieved outcomes to Strategic Sourcing Manager for validation
- Provide team members with direction/support throughout strategic sourcing process, applying appropriate and defined methodology and tools
- Manage strategic sourcing process with Sourcing Analysts, if necessary, applying appropriate and defined methodology and tools as well as sharing category best practices
- Manage/facilitate collaboration within the cross functional sourcing team
- Work closely with company level stakeholders to ensure local acceptance of new contracts
- Closely monitor internal customers contract compliance; define and take approved corrective actions to improve contract compliance
- Continuously track supplier performance and manage day to day strategic interactions
- Lead supplier development activities; set up cross functional review meetings with suppliers to improve performance and further reduce cost
- Manage internal customers feedback on procurement organization & supplier performance
- Review completed sourcing events for opportunities to automate procurement (i.e. addition of items or services to electronic procurement tools)
Experience and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years work experience in procurement. Preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industry;
- Supply chain certification (CIPS);
- Ability to work within a team environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship building skills;
- Strong administrative and data management skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required;
- Good English knowledge (written and oral);
- Experience in delivering competitive advantage to the business through development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the spend category;
- Ability to multi task, problem solve, proactive with good presentation skills and self-initiative;
- Ability to meet deadlines in high volume environment;
