ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

We are looking for a OTR Key Account Manager – Responsible for the Northern Cape or Africa regions and willing travel into Africa regions based on customer and Business requirements - The Northern Cape role will report directly to OTR Sales Manager and for the Africa Region they will report to Sales Manager Africa – South Africa. 

 

You will be responsible for creating a long-term and trusting relationship with our customers. The Key Accounts Managers role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing customers and actively seek new sales opportunities within the South African region for the Northern Cape role and  the Key Account Manager for Africa they will need to sustain and grow business into the African Regions by providing specialized services, analyses and solution based recommendations.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Sales caution of Financial OB plan / Customer Intimacy
    • Periodical site Visits – to include Mine Management, Procurement and Accounts department.  Document key take-a-ways and clear visibility on requirements and expectations. 
    • Build and develop close, professional relationships with all mine personnel.
    • Understanding of future business and key challenges (pain points).

 

  • Forecasting
    • Accurate information to be provided for weekly landing point meetings when requested
    • Communication to clients on  production cuts to ensure all expectations are managed
    • End of year timeous and accurate forecast collection from all customers to ensure accurate forecasting to BSJ for following year production.

 

  • Reporting
    • Collection of market intelligence / Competitor update
    • Participate and provide key information to BSJ when required.
    • Information gathering for possibility of new product introduction and performance evaluation.
    • On-site surveys and Load studies when required – Report to be generated and submitted to Technical team within 10 working days.
    • Professional Feedback reports to customers with solid recommendations and solutions

 

  • KAM General Activities
    • Promote a culture of teamwork
    • Weekly Catch-up meetings to be attended to discuss wins and obstacles
    • Completion of standard Feedback form – to be submitted within 3 working days after site visit:
      • Contacts on mine – Names, email addresses, contact details to be provided to ensure database is up to date.
      • Status of account
      • Outstanding PO’s
      • Stock on site
      • Pain points
    • Assist planning department with arrangements for deliveries to mine site when required.
    • Assist with collection of Accounts payable as per agreed customer terms
    • 100% Participation in EMIA E-Learning and surveys when requested.
    • Safety first Mindset:
      • Safety Shares to be included in all presentations to clients
      • Zero accidents in the field

 

  • S&M Sales
    • S&M sales to be promoted at current customer sites as well as possible new business, to achieve monthly department target.

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

Matric

Experience (years):

  • Minimum 2 years sales experience within the OTR / Mining Industry

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing health and safety strategies within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the tyre or automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of regional and international health, safety and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Experience in project management and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools to assess health and safety and sustainability performance metrics.

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

  • Technical and Business aptitude
  • Understanding of OTR Specialized Systems (O-Dis / Treadstat)
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills who can work independently
