Job Purpose 

The purpose of this role is to evaluate product performance and make recommendations for product improvement to factories and maximise usage (lowest CPH) to customers.

Ensure technical performance data is communicated on a regular basis to sales team to increase sales and grow market share.


Main responsibilities


  • On-going evaluation of the performance of our products, through technical studies e.g.


  • Establish a database of all in-service tyres


  • Conduct tyre surveys


  • In-service tyre performance analysis


  • Test tyre performance reports


  • Compiling scrap tyre analyses


  • Make technical recommendations to customer to improve performance (reduce tyre operating costs)


  • Conduct site severity studies


  • Conduct load studies to determine correct inflation pressures


  • Conduct TKPH / WCF studies


  • Claim tyre analysis


  • Record all claim adjustments


  • Report on performance (cost per hour / km), wear rates, appearance and failure modes


  • Monitor opposition products performance


  • Attend high level meetings with customers to discuss findings and recommendations


  • Compile monthly technical reports for BSAF and BSJ


  • Update customer database monthly:


  • Monitor opposition products supplied and report on any changes


  • Determine customer needs and propose new products or improvements


  • Provide regular performance feedback on product changes and new products to all staff and distribution channel


  • Prepare own expense reports (vs. budget)


  • Submit 6 monthly and monthly call planners


  • Submit monthly call reports


  • Field training and product knowledge to distributor channel and user


  • Monitor skill levels of user and distributor channel and propose training


  • Liaise with BSAF training department to initiate training courses (user and distributors)


  • Display initiative/creativity/innovation to ensure proactive approach and generate ideas for performance improvement


  • Execute tasks innovatively to gain a competitive advantage and differentiate our products and services
