ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

Bridgestone is looking for a Draughtsman Graduate to join our team and gain practical experience within a world-class manufacturing environment.

This graduate programme is designed to provide hands-on exposure to drafting, engineering design and manufacturing operations while developing the technical and professional skills required to build a successful career in the automotive industry.

Working closely with engineering, maintenance and project teams, you will apply your academic knowledge in a practical environment, contribute to operational improvement initiatives and gain valuable industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation, updating and maintenance of technical and engineering drawings.

  • Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, schematics and supporting design documentation.

  • Support engineering and plant projects through accurate drafting and effective documentation control.

  • Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams and other project stakeholders to ensure drawings are accurate and compliant with applicable standards.

  • Apply drafting and engineering design principles to support operational and technical requirements.

  • Contribute to plant improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and performance.

  • Participate in safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate and well-organised technical documentation.

  • Ensure adherence to Bridgestone's safety, environmental and quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education, Master, Other Certification

A Bachelor's Degree, BTech or relevant postgraduate qualification in one of the following fields:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Draughting

  • Engineering Design

  • Mechatronics

  • A related technical or engineering field

Experience

  • Recent graduate, typically having completed the relevant qualification within the past two years.

  • Previous workplace experience is not essential; relevant internships, vacation work or practical academic projects would be beneficial.

  • A strong academic record and demonstrated achievement in relevant coursework and/or extracurricular activities are advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Sound understanding of engineering drawing principles and standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical documentation.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Language Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Soft/Behavioral Skills

  • Curious and eager to learn, with a strong growth mindset.

  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
