Job purpose:

The primary focus of the Consumer products regional supply planning and S&OP lead is to develop the currently short term regional planning horizon from 5 weeks to 12-18 weeks.  The emphasis of this role is to create a balanced rolling forecast for this planning horizon for the NOR region, with strong integration and collaboration with the newly created P2P team.

This newly created role should also identify and activate synergies between the UK and Ireland teams so that they act as ONE.

The Commercial Products supply planning and S&OP lead will work alongside his/her peer in commercial planning.  Each planning and S&OP lead will be supported by a direct report supply planning analyst.

There are 7 areas of responsibility for the Consumer products regional supply planning and S&OP lead:

  1. Build and Lead the Regional S&OP Process for Consumer Products (Horizon 12- 18 weeks)
  • Work closely and collaboratively with business units and demand planning teams to build and lead the coordination of an S&OP process and culture across NOR region
  • Through this process:
    • ensure supply and demand balances over the 12 – 18 week horizon
    • Drive allocation and stock reservation for local market in order to control stock availability on local retail market.
    • Adjust stock allocation between regional wholesalers and retail market when needed.
    • Ensure global review of upstream stock transfer to our local RDCs and orchestrate corrective actions with upstream sources.
    • Engage, update and collaborate proactively with central planning teams in EMIA to keep them informed of Regional initiatives, to initiate improvements, to build efficiencies and follow up corrective actions
    • orchestrate regional decision-making and collaboration to bring about cross functional and cross boarder initiatives, opportunities and projects by providing supply chain visibility, understanding and transparency


  1. Prepare and facilitate regional S&OP process as follows:
  • Prepare and align with regional leadership team a rolling annual meeting calendar
  • Articulate purpose, participants, agenda and expected outputs
  • Prepare and facilitate the 3 meetings listed below and summarize key decisions and actions, copying local and central planning team
  • The Regional S&OP process comprises three main meeting:
  1. Weekly S&OE Meeting
  2. Monthly demand review
  3. Monthly S&OP
  • Attend weekly LSCM S&OE to get update on central supply and demand balancing across EMIA and feedback regional activities & priorities.


  1. Lead and develop the supply planning analyst to a high impact performer
  • Develop a regional culture moving away from a market silo perspective
  • Ensure analysts are fully trained in latest tools and best practise
  • Develop their knowledge in the foundational principles of forecasting, DRP, ATP, Order book management and operational constraints
  • Coach them to high performance in all of their main responsibilities


  1. Replenishment of RDC’s (5 week horizon)
  • Ensures regular monitoring of replenishment of regional stocks.
  • Identifies SKUs at risk of shortage
  • Work to mitigate the risks of shortage:
    • Request for additional allocation,
    • Rebalances RDC stocks within the region, keeping waste flows to a minimum
    • Updates the estimated delivery dates in case of late delivery of supply
    • Directs demand to available substitute products during S&OE meetings
  • Regularly identifies dormant stocks within its scope of responsibility, shares them with the sales force and monitors specific Sales In operations with sales to limit the risk of obsolescence.
  • Communicate proactively on the RDC stock status, at a product / location level of detail:
    • With area managers and key account managers, by piloting weekly alignment meetings with the sales force.
    • With regional sales managers and directors during monthly S&OP 


  1. Inventory Management
  • Implement and maintain tools and KPI to follow stock level.
  • Control internal and consigned stock level on regular basis and communicate on its evolution.
  • Define and align target stock with the support of central team and local inventory planners.


  1. Performance reporting
  • Ensure that the KPI's are achieved and guarantee a solid follow-up of the supply chain procedures
    • Inventory management (FMC, SMDS,)
    • Service First Fill Rate, Final Fill rate, strategic customer Fill rate,
    • Not confirmed orders at customer
    • Demand accuracy, Sales achievement
    • Cost-to-serve (% direct shipments)


  1. Strategic customer
  • Work closely with P2P & Customer service manager to support P2P team in exceeding customer expectations on service and collaboration while focusing on cost optimization.
  • Prepare and present performance & trends for respective customers during
  • Develop strong connection with customers’ supply chain to drive value and deliver optimum service.


  1. Requirement
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of company-wide Inventory Management
