About the Role

Job Purpose

 

In your main role with Logistics you will support the coordination and monitoring of logistics operations for Bridgestone in the UK. Additionally, as part of Customer Services, you will take ownership and use initiative in order management for a portfolio of customers and tasks in UK & Ireland.

 

This hybrid role reports directly to the Logistics Manager with a matrix line to the Customer Service Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

 

Logistics & Planning:

 

  • Ensure stock management across the different warehouses in the UK.
  • Liaise with 3PLs regarding stock levels and goods movements.
  • Keep logs, records, and monitor warehouse stock and executed orders.
  • Work effectively in cross-functional teams, including planning, customer service, sales, 3PLs, and HQ.
  • Prepare reports and analysis for month-end activities, reconciliation of inventory discrepancies, and additional costs incurred.
  • Report ad-hoc activities (inbound loads to the UK) to all concerned parties (customs agents, 3PLs, sales, customer service, etc.).
  • Manage inbound supply from the source with a focus on inventory, customs, service, and related costs.
  • Work closely with supply planning to ensure resources are in place to manage volumes and throughput, and inform affected parties of any schedule changes.
  • Support the coordination of necessary import and customs clearance activities either directly or with customs clearance agents.
  • Liaise with urgent and ad-hoc transport and stock requirements and enquiries.
  • Support the UK&IE Logistics Manager and contribute to budget planning, potential tenders, supplier agreements, and contracts.
  • Run standard SAP reports and create downloads.
  • Merge and work data in Excel to create weekly/daily stock and availability reports for sales.
  • Review weekly deployment to cover shortages and not exceed warehouse inbound capacity.

 

Customer Services:

 

  • Support of orderbook management for customers in the UK & Ireland to increase availability.
  • Support opportunities to deliver efficiently and liaise with 3PL (DHL).
  • maintain ordered quantity and service levels where possible.
  • Represent Bridgestone externally and internally.
  • Manage time and tasks to ensure high standards of execution.
  • Support inbound calls and emails from customers to support the wider team
  • Support any new cross functional projects
  • Represent both logistics and Customer service department at cross functional meetings

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

 

Education, Master, other certification:

  • Preferably with Supply Chain, or Business related education

 

Experience (years):

  • 2-3 years supply chain experience.
  • Experience working  across functional teams and countries.
  • Working directly within tyre industry or a contracted 3PL supplier.
  • Preferably with experience on import/export activities.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively across various parts of an organization.
  • Numerate with ability to understand and analyse data to improve operations.
  • Systems literate with preference of SAP, Track & Trace tools & Microsoft office.
  • Strong communication skills to manage the internal and external stakeholders’ expectations; negotiate with suppliers when required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes when job demands it.

 

Languages Skills:

  • English (Spoken & written)

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

  • Boss focused - serves the customers having the end user in mind
  • Flexibility to travel and work from several locations outside of the main office
