The Person 

The ideal candidate must be a proactive and results-driven individual, who will be responsible for leading our expansion in the mining industry.

 

A deep understanding of the mining sector is required, as well as a robust network of industry contacts, and sufficient experience in identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities.

 

The candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive growth, build strategic partnerships, and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications, Skills

Experience & Essential Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Certificate/Diploma, and / or
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field, and /or
  • Extensive experience in the Off The Road Tyre Services industry.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • 5+ years of business development experience in the mining sector or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of the mining industry, including key players, trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully generating new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to mining operations.
  • Familiarity with mining technologies and environmental regulations.

Essential Requirements:

 

  • The candidate must have excellent proficiency in both French and English.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in both languages, both verbally and in writing.
  • The candidate must be willing and able to undertake extensive travel across the African continent.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different time zones, cultural environments, and local conditions is essential.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Research & Analysis

 

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities in the mining sector to identify potential markets and clients.

Lead Generation & Sales

  • Develop and execute strategies to generate new business opportunities within the mining industry.
  • Identify key stakeholders, build relationships, and convert leads into contracts.

Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and develop new relationships with mining companies, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and negotiations.

Proposal Development

  • Lead, prepare and deliver proposals, contracts, and sales agreements.
  • Negotiate terms and close deals in alignment with the company’s objectives.

Partnerships and Alliances

  • Develop strategic partnerships with mining companies, suppliers, and other industry players to drive growth and innovation.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including, but not limited to engineering and operations, to ensure that client requirements and project deadlines are met.
  • Overall, identify and cultivate relationships with primary decision-makers and influencers.

Report, Budget and Forecast

  • Prepare and manage budgets for business development activities.
  • Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates to senior management on business development activities and performance.
