About the Role
Job Purpose
The main purpose of the role involves restoring vehicle rims to pristine condition, using a variety of repair and refinishing techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough inspections of refurbished rims to ensure they meet company standards for safety, quality, and aesthetics.
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with clients and team members.
- Document repairs, services, and parts used for accurate record-keeping.
- Assess structural integrity, ensuring rims are free of cracks, bends, and other deformities that could impact vehicle performance or safety.
- Inspect cosmetic finishes, including paint, polish, and coatings, for uniformity, smoothness, and adherence to quality specifications.
- Document inspection findings and communicate any issues to the refurbishment team for corrective action.
- Develop and maintain detailed inspection checklists and quality control records.
- Work closely with the refurbishment serviceman and technician to provide feedback on quality standards and continuous improvement.
- Conduct routine audits of tools, materials, and processes to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to uphold the highest levels of quality and safety.

Qualifications & Experience Required
Education, Master, other certification:
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
- Level 1 MPI Certificate (requirement).
- Forklift Certification.
Experience (years):
- Proven experience in quality inspection within automotive repair or refurbishment, preferably in rim repair or refinishing.
Skills:
- Proficiency in forklift operation, including safe loading and unloading of materials.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques, as well as understanding of rim repair and painting processes.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify cosmetic and structural imperfections.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess issues and work with technicians to implement solutions.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable working on your feet and handling equipment for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and team collaboration
