ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Job Purpose

Defines and implements continuous improvement on related processes. Acts as an expert in the cell on trouble shooting and problem solving. Trains operators in new standards. Develops skills and coaches team members on process control tools.

Process development and improvement through Kaizen activities with the objective of reducing waste and scrap, improving productivity, and maintaining budgeted costs. Primary function is to issue standards and specifications to ensure that the finished products meet customer requirements and Company Quality objectives.

Responsibilities:

• To develop the operating team’ technical understanding and mastery process control

• Owns the centerlines, changeover, and change management daily management systems

• Owns the integrity of the cell and equipment event data system

• Responsible for data analytics of the cell losses and continual improvement of the process (Identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities)

• Improve interfaces with other processes

• Leads process definition to identify centerline targets and document standards (Management of Centerline (CL).

• Analyses cell data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities

• Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the cell

• Coaches teams on centerlines and change over daily management systems execution and problem-solving skills. Coaches operating teams on problem solving skills such as IPS and US)

• Coaches operating teams on technical understanding and mastery of process control.

• Participate in cell daily direction setting process daily to set priorities and allocate resources

• Ensure that quality management systems are implemented and maintained on a continuous basis to guarantee compliance to OEM process and product requirements

• Collects and analyses data on the machine stoppage to find problem reasons (Initial Problem Solving and Unified Problem Solving)

• To increase MTBF and shorten the change-over period.

• Waste and Scrap reduction.

• Management change

• Management of Rapid Change Over

• Loss elimination

• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving and operator training.

• Development of Standards and Specifications to ensure smooth running

• Disposition of faulty components

• Owns the Changeover Management DMS for the lines

• Tracks in process measures and results and takes appropriate action to correct results in case they are not heading the right direction.

• Participate in Line DDS to set priorities and allocate resources.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

 

B.Sc, (Chemical Eng), B.Tech (Chemical Eng), Quality/Engineering Diploma

Technical secondary school

One year as a leader, shift supervisor, daily supervisor, Kaizen specialist, engineer e.g., QA, EM, IE for 3 years.

Experience (years):

•4 to 7 years’ experience in a process improvement environment in the manufacturing industry

•Must demonstrate knowledge/experience working with Excel and LED systems​​​​​​​

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

•Communication level in English

•Knowledge of production process and quality requirements

•Thorough knowledge of quality management systems

•Planning, Leading and Organizing skills

•Communication skills and willingness to interact with shop floor staff

•Problem solving and trouble shooting skills

•A desire to be in a lead role

•Be a self-starter

•Strong organizational skills

•Able to teach, coach and develop others.

•Analytical skills and proficiency in Excel

•Apply Innovation Skills in Tyre Manufacturing Sphere

•Interpret, Analyze and Test Outcomes to Recommend Corrective Actions to Maintain Process Control

•Analysis of Production Data to Establish Conformance to Operating And Process Standards
