IT Manufacturing Network Security Specialist

Job Purpose
We are looking for a Network Security Specialist reporting directly to the IT Manufacturing Network Platform owner. This is an EMIA role, based in Bilbao.
You will be responsible for setting up, testing and maintaining hardware and software systems designed to ensure network security & working closely with the BSEMIA IT Security team. The network security specialist’s responsibilities include ensuring that current network hardware and software are well maintained, monitored and up to date with security requirements, recommending enhancements and identifying areas of improvements. You will also be responsible for helping to identify and solve complex network problems in manufacturing plants.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the IT manufacturing security SME for network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, Firewalls, Load Balancers,…)
- Participate in design and assess solutions in line with our technical and security standards and policies
- Implement technical solutions (proof of concepts / pilots, or production ready systems) to meet or to prove the functional and non-functional requirements
- Maintain current production systems
- Works with external suppliers to source solutions implementation
- Communicate with IT Teams in manufacturing plants to promote security best practices
- Contribute in a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and geographically distributed team
- Accepts ownership of tasks, can independently drive to completion, and seek guidance of more senior team members as needed
- Conduct security assessments of the network infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend security measures to mitigate them
- Develop and implement network security controls based on BSEMIA policies and standards
- Perform vulnerability assessments on the network infrastructure to identify potential weaknesses that could be exploited by attackers
- Stay up to date with the latest security trends and technologies, constantly adapting to new threats and vulnerabilities
Requirements:
- Education: a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in a network security role with 3-5 years of experience
- Cybersecurity framework knowledge for OT environments like ISA/IEC 62443, NIST or similar is a plus
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, NDR, NAC, and encryption. Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix will be valued.
- IT security certifications (i.e: CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security, Fortinet NSE4 Certification) is valued
- Cisco Certified Professional (CCNP or equivalent)Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills are necessary to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders, as well as to collaborate effectively with other IT teams and external partners
- Attention to detail to identify potential security risks and to ensure that security controls are properly implemented.
Overall, the network security specialist should have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and a deep understanding of network security concepts and technologies.
