ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Manufacturing Data Center Owner/Architect reporting directly to the Manufacturing IT Infrastructure Platform Owner. This is an BSEMIA role, based in Bilbao.

  1. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of IT professionals, including system and database administrators, providing guidance and support and conducting performance evaluations.
  2. You will closely work with Infrastructure Platform Owner and other manufacturing stakeholders to evolve, design and grow the current infrastructure, identifying areas of improvement and planning for future technology needs.
  1. You will manage and oversee the implementation of infrastructure projects such as server migrations, database upgrades, datacenter expansions…
  2. You will collaborate with other IT teams such as application development, Project Delivery Office or cybersecurity to ensure best practices and standards.
  3. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives by staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the IT manufacturing infrastructure SME
  • Participate in design and assess solutions in line with our technical and security standards and policies
  • Implement technical solutions (proof of concepts / pilots, or production ready systems) to meet or to prove the functional and non-functional requirements
  • Maintain current production systems
  • Works with external suppliers to source solutions implementation
  • Contribute in a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and geographically distributed team
  • Accepts ownership of tasks, can independently drive to completion, and seek guidance of more senior team members as needed
  • Conduct security assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend security measures to mitigate them
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of previous experience in a system administrator role
  • Strong project management and communication skills are necessary to communicate to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with other IT teams and external partners.
  • Customer focus with special attention service operations and SLAs
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems (including Active Directory), Oracle (RAC, ASM, Dataguard, Golden Gate), VMWare/Horizon View and/or Citrix.
  • Previous experience with HPE equipment (Primera, Synergy, Blade System…), NetBackup, DataDomain and SQL Server and background on cybersecurity projects and Azure will be valued.
  • IT certifications will be valuated (MCSA/MCSE, OCP, VCP, HCSA/RHCE, CISSP, CISA, EITCA/IS...)

 

Overall, the data center will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the organization's IT infrastructure. Must have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and a deep understanding on varied datacenter concepts and technologies.
